The pharmaceutical company and its owners, the Sackler family, had rejected calls for them to pay $4.5 billion out of their own pocket to settle the disputes, but a deal was reached on Wednesday. Under the proposed agreement, the Sackler family would relinquish control of the company, it would declare bankruptcy and then be resurrected as a trust to tackle the opioid epidemic. Many for the 22 state attorney generals and 2,000 counties which have sued the company are in agreement about the deal but some are stalling, according to The Washington Post.
The CIA's Kremlin mole whose existence was revealed this week could have been a source for the now-notorious Christopher Steele dossier on Donald Trump, a Russian campaigner has claimed. Oleg Smolenkov has been widely named in Russia as the CIA asset who was 'exfiltrated' last year by the agency amid fears he was in danger then lived outside Washington D.C. under his own name for a year before being outed. He has been said to have been so close to Vladimir Putin that he could photograph secret documents on the Kremlin strongman's desk, and provided key intelligence about Russia's attempts to interfere in the 2016 presidential election. The Kremlin foreign minister has denied there was a mole and claimed the proof was that there was no election interference.

BREAKING NEWS! 'People are shooting each other for food and water': Bahamas Hurricane Dorian death toll will be 'staggering' with THOUSANDS still missing as bodies pile up and militias are formed to stop looting. Up to 70,000 are in need of 'life-saving assistance'…
Some 2,500 people are still listed as missing in the Bahamas more than a week after Hurricane Dorian pummeled the Caribbean island chain - although that number may include evacuees who fled to shelters, authorities said on Wednesday. Bahamian Prime Minister Hubert Minnis told the nation in a televised address that the death toll from Dorian remained at 50, but conceded that the large number of people still missing meant that number would rise. 'The number of deaths is expected to significantly increase,' Minnis said, adding the government was being transparent and would provide 'timely information on the loss of life as it is available.' 😱
