Please, pray for the Augusta County Sheriff’s deputy who was shot in the line of duty overnight.🙏🏻

Virginia: "On December 17, 2025, at approximately 8:38 PM, Augusta County Sheriff’s Office deputies were attempting to serve an arrest warrant on a suspect in the 800 Block of Parkersburg Turnpike.  When the deputies arrived, they encountered the wanted suspect, and a physical altercation occurred. A Deputy was shot in the upper arm area during the altercation.  The Deputy was airlifted to the University of Virginia Medical Center for treatment.

I can confirm that we have had an officer involved shooting. I have turned the scene and the investigation over to the Virginia State Police, Bureau of Criminal Investigations, Appomattox Division.

No further details are being released by my office. Any additional details or information about this incident will be released by the Virginia State Police."

The pages of superseded and outdated policy will be completely removed from the record so no press outlet, entity or elected official may misrepresent the Coast Guard to politicize their policies and lie about their position on divisive and hate symbols.

Finally, the politicized holdup of Admiral Lunday's nomination has gone on long enough, and it needs to end. He has given nearly 39 years of distinguished service to the Coast Guard, this country, and the American people. He should be confirmed without delay.

NEW: ICE confirms that a murder suspect arrested for shooting & killing a man in Reston, VA yesterday is a Salvadoran illegal alien who had just been released from the Fairfax County, VA jail the day beforehand with ICE's detainer request ignored.

23-year-old Marvin Morales-Ortez, a citizen of El Salvador, was arrested yesterday following a manhunt after a man was found shot & killed inside of a home in Reston, VA.

Morales-Ortez had been in Fairfax County jail while facing charges for brandishing a gun and assaulting & inuring someone, but he was released on Tuesday when the case was dropped. ICE says their detainer to transfer him to their custody was ignored by Fairfax County.

After his release on Tuesday, Fairfax County Police say that an emergency custody order was obtained for Morales-Ortez due to mental health/danger concerns. They looked for him to take him into custody, but they were unable to find him.

He is accused of committing the murder just hours later.

Morales has a prior rap sheet showing he’s been charged with at least seven crimes in Fairfax County since 2020.

“On December 17th, Marvin Fernando Morales-Ortez, a criminal illegal alien from El Salvador with prior criminal charges for assaulting law enforcement/first responders allegedly gunned down a Virginia resident in Reston, Virginia. If Fairfax County would have simply worked to uphold our nation’s laws, then this tragedy may have never happened.”

A New York State Trooper was injured after being struck by a vehicle while responding to an earlier crash on Seven Springs Mountain Road in Monroe.

A state trooper has been transported to Westchester Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries after his marked troop vehicle was involved in a head-on crash with a Honda while his vehicle was stopped in the area of 277 Seven Springs Mountain Road in the Town of Monroe.
The collision occurred at around 8:45 p.m. on Monday, December 15.
The trooper was inside the vehicle at the time of the crash.
The driver of the Honda reported no injuries.
The incident remains under investigation.

A Washington State Patrol (WSP) sergeant was hurt in a crash in Lakewood on Wednesday.

The collision happened at 8:50 a.m. on 112th Ave and Steele Street. The WSP said a pickup collided with the trooper's patrol vehicle.

The sergeant was trapped inside his car after the crash. He was in stable condition when he was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
