In the early morning hours of December 11, 2025, CHP South Lake Tahoe officers attempted to stop a driver on Pioneer Trail for suspected DUI. During the encounter, the driver resisted arrest, re-entered his vehicle, and fled the scene. During the escape, a CHP officer was injured after being dragged a short distance by the vehicle while attempting to detain the suspect.

With the assistance of multiple local law enforcement agencies, an arrest warrant was obtained. On December 12, 2025, the suspect, identified as Aidan Anthony Bissell of South Lake Tahoe, was located and taken into custody at the Kirkwood Ski Resort.

Bissell was booked into the El Dorado County Jail on multiple felony charges, including assault with a deadly weapon on a peace officer, resisting arrest with injury, felony evading, and driving under the influence.

The FBI details the plans behind a New Year’s Eve attack plot to target 5 or more locations in Southern California, allegedly devised by members of a radical pro-Palestinian extremist group.

The FBI says the suspects:

“Led the efforts to obtain and build bombs and to recruit others to join in their plot.”

"Included step-by-step instructions to build IEDs."

“...made clear her desires. She said, quote, 'what we are doing will be considered a terrorist act.'”

“Plans for follow-up attacks ... plans to target ICE agents and vehicles with pipe bombs.”

The FBI says that 4 members of a radical pro-Palestinian extremist group, in preparation for a New Year’s Eve attack, allegedly planned to test bombs in the Mojave Desert:

“They traveled to the remote campsite … in the desert and they began unloading their bomb making materials to assemble and test the bombs.”

“They had everything they needed to make an operational bomb at that location and they were subsequently arrested by the FBI before they could build a functional explosive device.”

Two people, including a Norfolk Police officer, are seriously hurt after an early morning crash on Sunday.

It happened around 5:00 a.m. at the intersection of Highway 81 and 829 Road on the northeast edge of Madison. The police department says the officer was transporting an arrestee to the Madison County Jail. The officer was driving southbound and slowing to make a turn when a pickup hit the cruiser from behind. Ambulances transported both drivers to a local hospital before they were transported to Omaha hospitals for further treatment. The arrestee was treated and released.

The police department didn’t release the name of the officer or the other driver.

UPDATE: The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s inmate locator website lists Nick Reiner in custody and is being held on $4 million bail.

A Scottsdale police officer was injured in a two-vehicle crash Saturday morning while responding to a separate call.

Just before 10:30 a.m. on Dec. 13, an officer was involved in a crash at Osborn Road and Drinkwater Boulevard while responding to another call.

The officer suffered minor injuries, while police said the driver in the other vehicle was not seriously injured. That driver was evaluated at the scene but declined to be taken to the hospital.

However, the officer was taken to a nearby hospital for further evaluation.
