BREAKING OVERNIGHT: The front of a business was left in ruins, and a driver was hospitalized after a late-night crash in Santa Monica Thursday.

A driver and two Chicago police officers were hospitalized Thursday night after a crash on the South Side.

The collision occurred at about 10:50 p.m. when two officers in a marked police vehicle were traveling north in the 4200 block of North LaSalle Street where a silver sedan headed westbound ran a traffic signal and crashed into them, according to CPD.
Police said the sedan’s driver, a 33-year-old woman, sustained injuries and was taken to the University of Chicago Hospital, where she was listed in good condition.
The two officers were also transported to a local hospital in good condition.

Oklahoma: An NPD officer was struck outside of his vehicle just west of 108th Ave SE on Highway 9 at approximately 7:19PM.

The officer was transported to a local hospital and is currently listed in critical condition.

The crash remains under investigation

NEW: Lee County Florida Sheriff Carmine Marceno is contemplating a run for Congress, as a new website encourages him to enter the race for the District 19 seat.

Anthony Pedicini, Marceno's political consultant, said, "He has a bunch of money in his political committee; if he decided to do it, it wouldn't be a hard thing to turn the switch on and go." Pedicini believes that if Marceno enters the race, he will win, noting, "I think it's always been serious. Since the FBI cleared the sheriff of anything in that investigation, the poll we have internally shows if he gets in, he wins and his political future is in his own hands."
