This is a long video but please watch to get a small taste of what it's really like in Pacific Palisades right now. This is from just one neighborhood.
Gavin Newsom and Karen Bass promised to expedite construction after the Palisades Fire, to cut red tape and regulations. In reality not only have they failed at that; they've failed to intervene in the insurance crisis that's prevented many from even starting the rebuild process. And that's not even taking into account all of the other failures that caused this fire and made it so destructive.
As we approach the one-year anniversary, Palisades residents still need help - and for state and local leaders to be held accountable.

UPDATE: Record flood stage on the Snohomish River in the town of Snohomish, levee getting overtopped on Lowell Road north of Harvey Airfield.
Here's how you can help:
Make sure youβre aware of the flooding situation, not just where you live, but where you drive, where your kids go to school and where you work. Add your ZIP Codes at https://www.weather.gov/ to see if there are rivers impacted near you.
If your neighborhood is impacted or could be impacted by floods, TELL YOUR NEIGHBORS. Not everyone is doing the research. Help your neighbors out. Let them know whatβs happening.
If you drive and you encounter road closed signs, donβt drive around them. This is such an evolving event that some cities and counties may not be able to get signs up fast enough so if you see high water in a road, steer clear. A flooded road may have hidden dangers such as washed out roadbeds or underwater obstructions.
Make sure your wireless emergency alerts are TURNED ON. You may have turned them off because of too many AMBER Alerts or something, but now is not the time to have them off. Hereβs directions to help you: https://mil.wa.gov/alerts#WEA
OPT INTO local government alerts. These are different than the wireless emergency alert systems and you may get MORE information such as road closed notifications and critical flooding information. Yes, you may have to set up an account with your county to do this. https://mil.wa.gov/alerts#local

Californiaβs so-called political βwatchdog,β the FPPC, is proving once again it canβt, or wonβt, hold the California political elite accountable.
While Rob Bonta quietly rerouted nearly half a million dollars in campaign funds to cover his personal legal bills during a federal bribery probe, the commission built to enforce ethics laws is doing what it does best: stalling, soft-pedaling, and protecting insiders.
When the Attorney General is under scrutiny and the watchdog refuses to bark, thatβs is the definition of a cover-up.
Citizens deserve transparency, not political protection rackets dressed up as ethics enforcement.
The more we dig, the more this story exposes a system designed to shield power, not police it.
