AG Pam Bondi finally arrested a big fish!
Paul Campo, Former DEA Official, and Friend, Robert Sensi, Agreed to Launder Approximately $12,000,000 and Participate in Narcotics Trafficking for the Jalisco New Generation Cartel, a/k/a Cartel de Jalisco Nueva Generacion or CJNG
As alleged, Paul Campo and Robert Sensi conspired to assist CJNG, one of the most notorious Mexican cartels that is responsible for countless deaths through violence and drug trafficking in the United States and Mexico,β said U.S. Attorney Jay Clayton. βAs part of that support, the defendants laundered hundreds of thousands of dollars they believed to be CJNG drug proceeds, agreed to launder millions more, and even agreed to use their financial expertise to facilitate cocaine trafficking right here in New York City. By participating in this scheme, Campo betrayed the mission he was entrusted with pursuing for his 25-year career with the DEA. CJNG is a violent and corrupting criminal enterprise that New Yorkers want broken. I commend the extraordinary efforts of the DEA in aggressively pursuing CJNG and those who support their deadly and corrupt efforts, no matter who they may be.β

Yesterday: NC Governor Josh Stein flies to Charlotte, stands on a stage, swears in the cityβs first female police chief, delivers a feel-good speech about βbreaking barriersβ and βhistoryββ¦
β¦then hops back on his plane and flies home without saying ONE WORD about the violent crime explosion that same city is drowning in.
Hours later β literally HOURS later β another person is stabbed on the Lynx Blue Line. Second stabbing on that line this year.
Thatβs the real Charlotte right now, Governor.
While you were busy smiling for the cameras and collecting your βprogressive credβ points, riders were bleeding on a train platform because nobody in leadership has the guts to admit the policies you and your party have pushed for years are failing spectacularly.
You had the microphone in your hand today.
You looked right at the new chief, right at the cameras, right at the people of Charlotte⦠and you said nothing about the elephant in the room.
No mention of the skyrocketing murder rate.
No mention of the transit crime nightmare.
No mention of the fact that people are afraid to ride the light rail in broad daylight.
You donβt get to parachute in, claim credit for a βhistoric moment,β and then ghost when itβs time to talk about the bodies piling up.
Charlotte deserved better than a photo-op and a pat on the back today, Governor Stein.
We deserved a leader who actually gives a darn.
