The Tifton Police Department requested the GBI to conduct an independent investigation. Two officers were shot and injured.

"At the request of the Tifton Police Department, GBI Agents are investigating an officer involved shooting in Tifton, GA. Two Tifton Police Department investigators were shot during the incident. Davy Deonte Royal, age 35, of Tifton, GA, was arrested and charged with five counts of Aggravated Assault on a Peace Officer, five counts of Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, and two counts of Criminal Attempt to Commit Murder.

The preliminary information indicates that at about 10:50 a.m. on December 5, 2025, Tifton Police Department officers attempted to serve a search warrant at Royal’s home in the 800 block of Lee Avenue in Tifton, GA, with the assistance of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation Special Operations Unit. Officers approached the home. They knocked on the door and announced their presence. Royal shot at them, and the officers returned fire. Two Tifton Police Departmentinvestigators were shot during the incident. Royal barricaded himself inside the home. He surrendered hours later, and was taken into custody without incident.

Both investigators were taken to hospitals and are receiving medical treatment for their injuries.

Royal is being held in the Coffee County jail.

The GBI will conduct an independent investigation. Once complete, the case file will be given to the Tift County District Attorney’s Office for review."

Officer, civilian injured after crash in West Philadelphia.

Both a Philadelphia police officer and a civilian were hurt when their cars crashed around 1 a.m. Saturday morning.

The police car had significant front-end damage to the passenger side, with its tire knocked off the axle.

Across the street, the civilian's car came to rest on the sidewalk along the 5300 block of Chestnut Street.

Both the officer and the other driver were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

…then hops back on his plane and flies home without saying ONE WORD about the violent crime explosion that same city is drowning in.

Hours later — literally HOURS later — another person is stabbed on the Lynx Blue Line. Second stabbing on that line this year.

That’s the real Charlotte right now, Governor.

While you were busy smiling for the cameras and collecting your “progressive cred” points, riders were bleeding on a train platform because nobody in leadership has the guts to admit the policies you and your party have pushed for years are failing spectacularly.

You had the microphone in your hand today. 
You looked right at the new chief, right at the cameras, right at the people of Charlotte… and you said nothing about the elephant in the room.

No mention of the skyrocketing murder rate. 
No mention of the transit crime nightmare. 
No mention of the fact that people are afraid to ride the light rail in broad daylight.

You don’t get to parachute in, claim credit for a “historic moment,” and then ghost when it’s time to talk about the bodies piling up.

Charlotte deserved better than a photo-op and a pat on the back today, Governor Stein. 
We deserved a leader who actually gives a darn.
