Oscar Gerardo Solorzano-Garcia, an illegal alien from Honduras, is being charged with attempted first-degree murder after he stabbed a victim with a large knife on a train in Charlotte, North Carolina. NEW: Supervisor Janice Hahn, with LA Sheriff Robert Luna running cover, ordered LASD and CHP to stand down from a public safety meeting in West Whittier - a meeting specifically created to protect and inform the community.

The event is a public safety meeting hosted by West Whittier Community Advisory Committee - not a campaign rally, not a fundraiser, not political activity of any kind.
