SHERIFF’S CENTRAL POP TEAM UNCOVERS LARGE-SCALE ILLEGAL DRUG OPERATION
Last night, the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office Central POP Team, with the assistance of SED, GSU, SCOUT, North HIP, RCPD CSU, and Folsom SWAT served a search warrant at a residence on Bar Du Lane in South Sacramento County, uncovering a large-scale illegal marijuana “pop-up” sales operation run out of a private home.
The primary suspect, 45-year-old Joseph Marques, who is also the owner of Sacramento Elite Patrol (a private security guard service), is believed to have been operating a “pop-up” marijuana and narcotics enterprise from his residence. Marques was not located during the operation and is believed to be in Mexico. He is currently wanted in connection with this investigation.
During the search, Deputies seized narcotics, firearms, and cash with an estimated street value exceeding $2.5 million, including:
• 300+ pounds of processed marijuana
• 5+ pounds of psilocybin mushrooms
• 36+ kilograms of THC wax
• 5,000+ THC vape pens
• 3 illegal firearms including one stolen pistol
• $17,000+ in cash
Deputies also arrested three adults at the scene for possession of cocaine for sale, fentanyl, felon in possession of ammunition, and an outstanding felony warrant.
The investigation into Marques and the scope of his operation remains ongoing. Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is urged to contact the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office at (916) 874-5115 or Sacramento Valley Crime Stoppers at (916) 443-HELP (4357), where anonymous tips may be eligible for a cash reward.

Today, the CDC Vaccine Committee made a very good decision to END their Hepatitis B Vaccine Recommendation for babies, the vast majority of whom are at NO RISK of Hepatitis B, a disease that is mostly transmitted sexually, or through dirty needles. The American Childhood Vaccine Schedule long required 72 “jabs,” for perfectly healthy babies, far more than any other Country in the World, and far more than is necessary. In fact, it is ridiculous! Many parents and scientists have been questioning the efficacy of this “schedule,” as have I! That is why I have just signed a Presidential Memorandum directing the Department of Health and Human Services to “FAST TRACK” a comprehensive evaluation of Vaccine Schedules from other Countries around the World, and better align the U.S. Vaccine Schedule, so it is finally rooted in the Gold Standard of Science and COMMON SENSE! I am fully confident Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., and the CDC, will get this done, quickly and correctly, for our Nation’s Children. Thank you for your attention to this matter. MAHA!

Congratulations to Indiana's tremendous Republican State Representatives, led by GREAT Speaker Todd Huston, Bill Sponsor Ben Smaltz, and Elections Committee Chairman Tim Wesco, who just overwhelmingly voted to pass their new, much fairer, and improved, Congressional Map. It was my Honor to win Indiana six times, including Primaries, in 2016, 2020, and 2024, and this new Map would give the incredible people of Indiana the opportunity to elect TWO additional Republicans in the 2026 Midterm Elections. The Indiana Senate must now pass this Map, AS IS, and get it to Governor Mike Braun's desk, ASAP, to deliver a gigantic Victory for Republicans in the “Hoosier State,” and across the Country. I am hearing that these nine Senators, some of whom are up for Re-Election in 2026, and some in 2028, need encouragement to make the right decision: Blake Doriot, Brett Clark, Brian Buchanan, Dan Dernulc, Ed Charbonneau, Greg Goode, Jim Buck, Rick Niemeyer, and Ryan Mishler. We would like to thank the family of Officer Don Sheppard who recently donated items of his to be proudly displayed. One of those items was Officer Sheppard's badge which is nephew, our own Officer Orth, proudly wore today to honor his uncle.
Officer Donald Sheppard was tragically shot and killed during a traffic stop at 9:50 am on November 12, 1971 while on Ridge Road near Highland Street.
Officer Sheppard, while transporting two other officers back from checking on an impounded car, made a traffic stop on a vehicle. The officers were unaware that the driver was a convicted rapist who had escaped from the Indiana State Prison in Michigan City two hours earlier. The suspect opened fire on the officers, killing Officer Sheppard, but was shot and wounded by one of the other officers. The suspect was arrested and sentenced to life in prison, where he died.
Officer Sheppard had served with the Highland Police Department for five years. He was survived by his wife and three children.
Officer Sheppard's badge will be proudly displayed at the department in our efforts to honor his service and sacrifice.

We are aware of some social media reports about an active shooter in Poway. SD Sheriff can confirm there is NO active shooter situation.
Earlier today, the Poway Sheriff's Station and Poway Fire Department conducted active shooter response training in the Scripps Poway Parkway Industrial Park near Scripps Poway Parkway and Stowe Drive.
This was simply a training exercise. There was no threat to the public.
