RECKLESS!

On Monday, December 1, around 12:30 a.m., AIR5 spotted a reckless driver on US 95 at Charleston.

The light-colored sedan was traveling at speeds between 120 and 140 miles per hour, weaving dangerously close to cars and passing on the shoulder.

The vehicle was seen sparking at some points while Air 5 tried to keep up with the dangerous speeds.

As you can see from this helicopter video, this could have ended in tragedy.

One of our patrol officers spotted the vehicle and pulled it over on the southbound I-15 ramp from US 95.

Behind the wheel was an 18-year-old who showed signs of impairment.

The car also had a 16, 17, and another 18-year-old inside.

Dangerous, deadly, and downright dumb.

The driver was arrested, and the car was impounded.

We are cracking down on dangerous driving, from the air and on the ground. So far, 148 people killed on roads within our jurisdiction in 2025.

White served the citizens of Madison County with honor, integrity, and unwavering commitment. His service and sacrifice will never be forgotten.

Lt. White began his law enforcement career in 1996 with the Clark County Sheriff’s Office. In 2008, he joined the Ohio Attorney General’s Office – Bureau of Criminal Investigation, where he continued to distinguish himself through professionalism and dedication. Prior to Sheriff Sabin’s retirement in 2019, Lt. White transitioned from Ohio BCI to the Madison County Sheriff’s Office, where he served as Commander of the Investigations Division.

The suspect allegedly threatened to make his roommate disappear, "chop him into pieces, and feed him to the cat" after he accidentally let out the dog and cat and was unable to locate them.

NEW: Former Sacramento County Sheriff’s Deputy Marvin Morales, 40, is the suspect accused of stabbing his 11-year-old son to death inside their Elk Grove home.

The boy’s mother reportedly saw the attack unfold on a home security camera while she was at work and called 911. When officers arrived, the child was critically injured and later died at the hospital. His 6-year-old sister survived.

Morales fled the scene, launching a multi-agency pursuit down I-5 that ended in Lodi after officers deployed spike strips. A crash, a shootout, and Morales was finally taken down. He later died at the hospital.

Morales wasn’t just a random man spiraling out of control. He was a former deputy, fired last year after allegedly overdosing on fentanyl inside a sheriff’s station bathroom, using evidence seized in a case, and then lying to investigators.

Red flags weren’t just present; they were practically waving in neon. Yet the institution that once armed him, trained him, and trusted him with authority did little to acknowledge the ongoing danger to those closest to him.

And now, the deeper questions begin.

Recruitment and retention didn’t collapse because of “lack of support.”

It collapsed because deputies watched what you did to Deputy Trevor Kirk, and deputies know it could just as easily be them.

Charles Shay, a Native American veteran who saved lives on Omaha Beach as a D-Day medic, has died at the age of 101.

Shay died at his home in Bretteville-L’Orgueilleuse in France’s Normandy region, his longtime friend and carer Marie-Pascale Legrand said.

“I guess I was prepared to give my life if I had to. Fortunately, I did not have to,” Shay said in March 2024 in an interview with The Associated Press.

“I had been given a job, and the way I looked at it, it was up to me to complete my job,” he recalled. “I did not have time to worry about my situation of being there and perhaps losing my life. There was no time for this.”
