NEW: A deputy is recovering after his SUV was hit on Saturday morning in Grenada Co., Mississippi, according to officials.

According to the Grenada County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy was taken to the emergency room after the vehicle he was in was struck on Interstate 55. They say he was released from the emergency room and will make a full recovery.

Officials say the driver and passenger of the other vehicle were taken to the hospital by EMS and are in serious condition.

DEVELOPING: Police are chasing a vehicle in the Los Angeles area near Santa Fe Springs.

Earlier this afternoon during the rain, a trooper was working a crash on southbound I-635 just north of Metropolitan.

While working that crash, another driver lost control of their vehicle and slid across the lanes of traffic to the right ditch, barely missing other vehicles and the rear of the trooper’s patrol car.

UPDATE: Shortly before 6:00 p.m., our dispatch center received reports of a shooting that occurred near the 1900 block of Lucile Avenue in Stockton. We can confirm at this time that approximately 14 individuals were struck by gunfire, and four victims have been confirmed deceased.

This is a very active and ongoing investigation, and information remains limited. Early indications suggest this may be a targeted incident, and investigators are exploring all possibilities. Detectives are actively working to determine the circumstances leading up to this tragedy.

Our thoughts are with the victims, their families, and everyone impacted by this senseless violence.

We are urging anyone with information, video footage, or who may have witnessed any part of this incident to contact the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office immediately. Community assistance is vital in helping us identify those responsible and bring justice to the victims and their loved ones.
