The Director and I, in conjunction with our employees in the field, have emphasized taking down the “764 network” – and I want to update you on a couple of the latest cases.

For those who may not know, the 764 Network is a heinous child exploitation ring that often targets children online and coerces them into acts of violence – self harm, animal abuse, suicide, and sexual abuse. At the beginning of the year, our teams redoubled our efforts to go after these networks and eliminate them. We have more than 300 investigations connected to this network going on nationwide, as we speak, and that number is growing. It is a top priority for us.

Out of FBI Baltimore - recently our teams worked with partners to arrest an individual who had allegedly targeted 5 victims – one as young as 13.  The individual is now in federal custody, and we expect more information to be released on this case soon.

Out of Arizona - recently, we had another case – where an indictment revealed an individual in federal custody had been found allegedly targeting kids as an affiliate of 764. The 9 victims involved were between 11-15 years old. Some of the allegations involve distributing child pornography, cyberstalking, animal crushing, and even conspiring to provide material support to terrorists.

I cannot emphasize enough - this is a major issue in America that not enough people know about. We are asking all parents to please be on guard – check in with your kids and monitor their internet usage. Consider your options for putting safeguards in place that limit what these networks can reach.

In the meantime, this FBI will keep working day and night to destroy this network. It is a top priority. We are making progress, but the work isn’t done.

Vehicle attacks on DHS law enforcement have MORE THAN DOUBLED this year. These attacks are driven by hateful rhetoric from sanctuary politicians, activists, and the media.

ICYMI: Two people were killed in a fiery multi-vehicle crash Tuesday in northwest Las Vegas, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.

During a news conference several hours after the crash, Metro Deputy Chief Jose Hernandez said the crash was caused by a vehicle that was “traveling at a high rate of speed” and implored Las Vegas Valley drivers be safer on area roadways.

BREAKING: DOJ charges Congresswoman Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick (D-FL) with stealing $5 million in FEMA funds, laundering the proceeds, and then using the money to support her 2021 Congressional campaign. She faces up to 53 years in prison if convicted.

According to the indictment, DOJ says:

“Cherfilus-McCormick, 46, and her brother Edwin Cherfilus, 51, both of Miramar, worked through their family health-care company on a FEMA-funded COVID-19 vaccination staffing contract in 2021. In July 2021, the company received an overpayment of $5 million in FEMA funds.

The indictment alleges that the defendants conspired to steal that $5 million and routed it through multiple accounts to disguise its source. Prosecutors allege that a substantial portion of the misappropriated funds was used as candidate contributions to Cherfilus-McCormick’s 2021 congressional campaign and for the personal benefit of the defendants.

The indictment further alleges that Cherfilus-McCormick and Nadege Leblanc, 46, of Miramar, arranged additional contributions using straw donors, funneling other monies from the FEMA-funded Covid-19 contract to friends and relatives who then donated to the campaign as if using their own money.

The indictment also charges Cherfilus-McCormick and her 2021 tax preparer David K. Spencer, 41, of Davie, with conspiring to file a false federal tax return. According to the indictment, they falsely claimed political spending and other personal expenses as business deductions and inflated charitable contributions in order to reduce her tax obligations.”

A Prince William County police officer is recovering tonight after a suspect took off with the officer on the trunk of a stolen car.

Police say one of their officers spotted a black car with stolen plates, confronted the driver and through the course of their interaction, the driver took off with the officer physically on top of the trunk of the car.

The officer fell off during the getaway, thankful to be alive, only suffered a busted lip.

"He’s good, sustained a busted lip but thankfully, nothing more than that," said Lieutenant Jonathan Perok, Prince William County Police Department. He’s doing OK.

A Corsicana ISD officer was injured after accidentally discharging a firearm on campus on Wednesday morning, according to the district.

The incident happened at Bowie Elementary at about 9:20 a.m.

A district police officer was injured, and emergency medical personnel responded to provide care.

Corsicana ISD confirmed the officer was authorized to carry a firearm on school property, and no students or campus staff were present in the room with the officer when the discharge occurred.
