It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Deputy Joshua Dunaway, a dedicated member of the Ascension Parish Sheriffs Office Motors Division. Joshua was more than a coworker to many of us, he was a friend, a teammate, and a loving father who cared deeply for his family.

His loss is felt across our entire agency. We ask that you keep Joshuaโ€™s family, friends, and his APSO family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Funeral arrangements will be shared once they are finalized.

The Director and I, with the strong support of the President and Attorney General, prioritized removing violent criminals from our streets, early on in our tenures. This is a no-fail mission.

Most violent crimes are committed by a relatively small number of hardened criminals. When the tried and true principles of โ€œbroken windowsโ€ policing are combined with surge-based resource allocation, and strong partnerships with state and local law enforcement professionals, you can target these scourges, uncover their networks, and remove them from our streets.

This is happening all over the country from NY to Chicago to LA. Itโ€™s a honor to work for an administration that doesnโ€™t play politics with the safety of the public.

It was an honor to attend the Big Blue Bash at Mar-a-Lago and stand with the brave men and women who protect our communities every single day.

The event reminded us that courage is lived in real time by those who run toward danger so others can live in peace.

It was a great evening at Mar-a-Lago and a powerful tribute to the families who serve alongside our heroes. Thank you to Law Enforcement Today and FLEOAORG for hosting an event worthy of those who serve in law enforcement.

General Mike Flynn

Thank you, General Flynn, for being a part of this event and thank you for all you have done, and continue to do for our country.

WATCH IN FULL: President Donald J. Trump's interview with Beverley Turner on GBNEWS.

POTUS: "I'm so saddened to see what happened in Europe with the immigration... Europe is not the same place."

POTUS on windmills: "When they talk about the climate, the whole thing is a hoax."

POTUS: "I think I've proven 'Fake News' because they used to have high approval ratings, the media, now they have the lowest. I think they're lower than Congress, which is pretty good. 'Fake News' was a great term โ€” except it's not strong enough." ๐Ÿคฃ

POTUS on the BBC deceptively editing his speech: "I couldn't believe it, actually. I've been doing this for a long time, I've never seen anything like that... I think that was worse than the Kamala thing with CBS and 60 Minutes."

POTUS on the border: "I had a very safe border the first four years, but now I have a really safe border โ€” but I didn't have to go Congress to do it. You're the President."

"The President is a bit like being a good father โ€” tough love, clear boundaries... Does it ever occur to you how much the role is like being a father?"

"I love this country. I love the people of the country." โค๏ธ

"I always would say to my kids, 'No drugs. No alcohol. No cigarettes'... because if you don't start it, you don't have a longing."

Sgt. Sam Lilley Update โ€“ Day 396

Sgt. Sam Lilley has made tremendous strides over the past yearโ€”but to truly appreciate how far he's come, you have to understand where he was.

Sgt. Lilley was involved in a horrific on-duty motorcycle crash while responding to assist another deputy who had just been in a motorcycle crash himself. Following Sgt. Lilleyโ€™s crash, he sustained life-threatening injuries. Thankfully, because so many first responders were already nearby, they were able to divert and immediately render aid.

He was rushed to Regional One, where every second was criticalโ€”each moment could have been his last. The following weeks were filled with uncertainty.

Through God's healing hand, the prayers of countless people, and the work of some of the world's finest medical teams, Sgt. Lilley continues to recover. Simple milestonesโ€”like putting the cap back on a tube of Chapstickโ€”became victories worth celebrating. Every small step has been nothing short of a miracle.

Today, Sgt. Lilley continues his journey in rehab, learning to stand, walk, swallowโ€”all the things most of us do daily without a second thought. His recovery has been slow but steady. He still has a long way to go for "normalcy," but he's progressing every single day.

This past Tuesday, November 12th, the Shelby County Commission Subcommittee met to address Sgt. Lilleyโ€™s benefits.

Shelby County does not offer a medical retirement. Therefore, since his accident occurred over a year ago, the county commission will have to vote to decide if the County will continue to cover Sgt. Lilleyโ€™s pay, benefits, and keep his On the Job Injury (OJI) status open to cover his medical expenses.

Because of the support from our community, the County Commission Subcommittee voted unanimously, with 7 votes, in the first step to move the Resolution to continue supporting Sgt. Lilley to the full committee. The full committee will meet this coming Monday, November 17, 2025, at 3:00 PM, in the 1st-floor chambers of the Shelby County Building, located at 160 N. Main.

We are asking for the community's continued support for Sgt. Lilley! If you cannot attend, please take the time to email your county commissioner and encourage them to continue taking care of Sgt. Lilley.

Thank you for your continued support for Sgt. Sam Lilley, and please don't forget to keep him in your prayers.

JUST IN: Tricia McLaughlin on the Charlotte CBP operation:

โ€œAmericans should be able to live without fear of violent criminal illegal aliens hurting them, their families, or their neighbors. We are surging DHS law enforcement to Charlotte to ensure Americans are safe and public safety threats are removed. There have been too many victims of criminal illegal aliens, and President Trump and Secretary Noem will step up to protect Americans when sanctuary politicians wonโ€™t.โ€

A California Highway Patrol officer is recovering after a large tree suddenly collapsed onto his patrol vehicle Thursday evening on State Route 17, just south of Summit Road in the Santa Cruz Mountains.

According to reports, the officer was driving a 2021 Ford Explorer CHP unit when storm-soaked soil caused a massive tree to give way from the west side of the highway. The tree fell directly onto his vehicle and also struck a black Audi Q5 traveling behind him.

The officer suffered minor injuries, was transported to a local hospital, and has since been treated and released.

Please join us in sending prayers and, or positive thoughts for his recovery๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป

The driver of the Audi โ€” a woman from Los Gatos โ€” was not injured, according to CHP.
