Texas: A state trooper was injured and multiple people were detained after the driver of a stolen vehicle led authorities on a multi-county chase from McMullen County to San Antonio’s South Side.

The pursuit began Monday afternoon when McMullen County deputies spotted a vehicle reported stolen out of Bexar County, according to a law enforcement source.

Authorities said the driver sped north on Highway 16, leading officers through Atascosa and Bexar counties before the chase ended near Kingsride Boulevard and Applewhite Road, just south of Loop 410.

Multiple spike strips were deployed to stop the vehicle, and one of them caused the car to crash into other vehicles, according to the source.
