Rest in Peace: Police Officer Roger Smith of the WakeMed Campus Police and Public Safety Department in North Carolina. End of Watch: November 8, 2025.

Officer Smith served with the WakeMed Department for 14 years and had previously served in the Knightdale Police Department in NC for 17 years.

He is survived by his brother and two adult daughters.

The FBI sends our prayers and condolences to Officer Smith’s family, friends, and colleagues he leaves behind.

UPDATE: A carjacking suspect who stole a truck hauling portable toilets was arrested on Sunday afternoon following a hit-and-run crash on Pacific Coast Highway In Malibu.

Santa Monica police say that the commercial vehicle, a Ford F550 truck that had a trailer with multiple bathrooms as cargo, was taken at around 2:50 p.m. from Third Street and Arizona Avenue near the Third Street Promenade.

At around 4:20 p.m., authorities said that the suspect was found and arrested after he fled towards the Big Rock Beach shoreline on foot.

Police said one of the portable toilets came loose from the truck and fell onto the road near PCH and Sunset Boulevard.

No one was injured during the hit-and-run crash.

A suspect in the weekend Border Patrol attack is now in custody. Is this a warning to others?

The Montana Highway Patrol sadly announced the death of retired Officer Roger Dundas who passed away last week.

He served the Patrol from his swearing-in on June 30, 1992, until his retirement on November 25, 2013. He and his wife, Dottie, moved to Washington after his retirement.

Canton Ohio police officer dies in car accident on way to work.

Officer Dave Wolgamott was reportedly involved in an unspecified accident on the 800 block of Cherry Avenue Southeast just before 7 a.m. The officer was transported to the hospital where he later died of his injuries, police said.

Wolgamott had been with Canton police since 2006 and was assigned to the patrol division and worked at the jail.

A criminal illegal alien from Mexico, has been arrested in relation to Saturday’s shooting targeting Border Patrol agents in Chicago. The suspect has a previously been convicted for aggravated unlawful use of a weapon/vehicle, felony possession of a weapon, and illegal entry.

He is currently marked as a violator of the Laken Riley Act, pending charges related to assaulting officers.
 
This incident is not isolated and reflects a growing and dangerous trend of violence and obstruction. Over the past two months, we’ve seen an increase in assaults and obstruction targeting federal law enforcement during operations. These confrontations highlight the dangers our agents face daily and the escalating aggression toward law enforcement.
