David Sacks: Republicans must use the nuclear option to end the filibuster to deliver results.
David Sacks "The country gave President Trump a mandate. They gave him a sweeping reelection. Seven out of seven swing states, the House and the Senate, and they want results.
And those results are being thwarted by a government shutdown and more generally by this crazy filibuster rule.
Why wouldnβt we get rid of it now and actually pass the reform that the country wants?"
Chamath "And weβre getting to a place where if these folks in the Senate and the House donβt get back to work soon, there will be no domestic policy agenda that gets passed.
Thereβs critical crypto legislation, AI legislation, thereβs domestic healthcare and other legislation that has to have a chance to see the light of day.
And so if youβre not going to show up, then it doesnβt leave many other options except to get rid of the filibuster."

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of one of our very own, Sergeant Lamar Dyar. Sgt. Dyar faithfully served the Fayette County Sheriffβs Office, Georgia for over 20 years. During his time with our agency, he served in many roles from Deputy Sheriff to working with a federal task force. He dedicated his career to protecting others, and he did it with integrity and heart.
Sgt. Dyar was a proud father to five beautiful daughters, whom he loved more than anything. He often spoke about them with a smile, and being their dad was his greatest honor.
Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and the entire Fayette County Sheriffβs Office family during this difficult time.
Rest easy, Sgt. Dyar. Weβll take it from here. π

BREAKING: Border Patrol agents reportedly fired upon in Chicago today.
"Today, U.S. Border Patrol was conducting immigration enforcement operations near 26th Street and Kedzie Avenue in Chicago, Illinois, when an unknown male driving a black Jeep fired shots at agents and fled the scene. An unknown number of agitators also threw a paint can and bricks at Border Patrolβs vehicles. Chicago Police Department was called for assistance and cleared the scene. The shooter and vehicle remain at large, and this is a dynamic situation.
This incident is not isolated and reflects a growing and dangerous trend of violence and obstruction. Over the past two months, weβve seen an increase in assaults and obstruction targeting federal law enforcement during operations. These confrontations highlight the dangers our agents face daily and the escalating aggression toward law enforcement. The violence must end."

NEW: A Malibu homeowner tells me the insurance premium presented to his family to cover their home, minus earthquake coverage, is $90,000 per year.
With limited insurance options -- companies like State Farm, Allstate, Farmers, Nationwide and other major companies have stopped writing new policies in California -- and without a better option, they are going without insurance.
Insurance companies cite challenges like increased wildfire mismanagement, the high cost of construction, over-regulation and difficulty in getting approval by the state for rate hikes as the reason for higher premiums.
The Malibu family's only option is the "insurance of last resort," the California Fair Plan, which recently had to collect $1 billion to keep from going under. "We are one fire away from insolvency," says one CA assemblyman.
When that happens, there will be no insurance option for California homeowners.
