Connecticut: Branford Officers were patrolling the Walmart parking lot around 10:15a.m. and located a blue Acura RL, which had a stolen registration plate affixed to the rear. It was also determined the Acura was stolen from Branford in early October.
The driver, later identified as Carlos Collazos, (30) of New Haven, was uncooperative and several officers gave him numerous commands to exit the locked vehicle. Carlos instead started the vehicle and attempted to flee, striking multiple police vehicles and a customer's unoccupied vehicle. Officers were able to position their vehicles to stop him from attempting to escape, potentially injuring bystanders, and causing additional damage.
Officers were able to remove Collazos from the vehicle and take him into custody. They located an automatic spring release knife, which was on Collazos during the incident.
Two Branford Officers and Collazos were transported to a local hospital to receive medical treatment for injuries sustained during this incident.
Praying for a fast recovery for the Branford PD officers involved.ππ»
Fortunately, no customers were injured.
More: Branford Police Department

UPDATE: At least 12 dead in UPS plane crash and explosion in Louisville, Kentucky.
At least 12 people have been confirmed dead, and officials warn that number could still rise as recovery efforts continue. The crash tore through nearby businesses and roads, leaving a half-mile debris field that investigators are now combing through.
The NTSB has recovered the planeβs black boxes and confirmed that one of the MD-11βs engines detached during takeoff, sparking the explosion. The FAA and local authorities are asking the public not to touch any debris that may have landed nearby.
Passenger and UPS flights have resumed, but delays are ongoing as crews clear and secure the crash site. Two people remain in critical condition, while 13 others injured in the blast have been released from the hospital.

A U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer was seriously injured Monday after being struck in the face with a metal coffee cup during an arrest operation in Houston, according to the Department of Homeland Security.
The officer sustained a deep laceration requiring 13 stitches, plus several burns to his face.
Authorities say the suspect, Walter Leonel Perez Rodriguez, a previously deported Salvadoran national with convictions for sexual assault of a minor, child fondling and multiple DUIs, attacked the officer while agents attempted to take him into custody.
Perez, who had been deported from the United States twice β first in June 2013 and again in February 2020 β allegedly reentered the country illegally at an unknown time and location, according to DHS. He's now in ICE custody.
DHS Assistant Secretary for External Affairs Tricia McLaughlin condemned the assault and said, "Anyone who lays a hand on our ICE officer will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law."
