BREAKING: Per multiple federal law enforcement sources, the suspect charged w/ killing a SoCal high school student in a DUI hit & run crash this month is a Mexican illegal alien with two prior DUI arrests in CA in 2024, but the Biden admin ICE never sought to arrest him because he didnโt meet Biden admin immigration enforcement priorities at the time.
Jose Abelardo Villegas-Orbe, a Mexican national, is now charged with vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated & DUI hit & run causing death after he allegedly killed 14-year-old La Quinta High School freshman student Liam Cantu while he was riding his bike on October 10th. Cantu died in the hospital this week. Police say Villegas-Orbe fled the scene.
Photo of suspect Villegas-Orbe is attached via federal source.
Sources tell me that Villegas-Orbe was arrested for DUIs in August 2024 and November 2024, both in Riverside County, CA, but because the DUI arrests were misdemeanors, they did not meet Biden admin immigration enforcement priorities and ICE detainers weren't filed at the time, meaning Biden's ICE made no effort to arrest or take custody of him.
He is now accused of a third DUI, that has tragically taken the life of a young boy.
The Trump admin ICE has now filed a detainer request with local law enforcement for the hit & run death arrest, though CA's sanctuary state law likely wouldn't allow any cooperation even if the suspect made bail.
Local media write up on the case, which mentions nothing about the suspectโs immigration status & refers to him as a Palm Springs resident.

BREAKING: The cartels are offering $10k to individuals to shoot Border Patrol agents according to an internal alert I received via sourcesโโassailants may wear Mexican military uniforms to avoid raising suspicionโฆโ
Hereโs what the alert stated:
"The Rio Grande Valley (RGV) Sector has received information suggesting plans for a coordinated attack on United States Border Patrol Agents (BPAs). Intelligence indicates that a cartel may offer $10,000 USD to individuals who engage in shooting at BPAs.
Additional reporting suggests that assailants may wear Mexican military uniforms to avoid raising suspicion while carrying long arms or machine guns. While this threat specifically pertains to the RGV Sector, it reflects heightened cartel frustrations that could extend across the southwest border...
Agents should remain aware of the potential threat and maintain heightened vigilance of their surroundings while conducting operations."

Good work, ICE. Law enforcement, or American citizens in general, shouldn't have to face repeat offenders who shouldn't be here in the first place.

Do not assault or interfere with federal agents doing their jobs. If an agent feels threatened, you may get shot, and you will be arrested and charged.
Carlos Jimenez, 24, of Ontario, is charged with assault on a federal officer and faces a federal prison sentence after interfering with lawful immigration enforcement yesterday.
According to a federal complaint filed today, Jimenez pulled up in a Lexus while federal agents conducted a lawful traffic stop on Thursday morning in Ontario and began arguing with the agents. When told to leave, Jimenez drove forward, then reversed at speed toward agents, one of whom opened fire, wounding Jimenez.
He is expected to make his initial appearance this afternoon in U.S. District Court in Riverside. He is presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
