Weeks into the "perplexing" search for missing 9-year-old Melodee Buzzard, California authorities said they've served follow-up search warrants at her mom's home, a storage locker and the rental car Melodee was last seen in.
Local detectives and FBI agents served the warrants on Thursday. Because they expected to need access to the home of Melodee's mom, Ashlee Buzzard, for "an extended time, detectives escorted Ashlee to an alternate location that would not interfere with their ability to conduct a thorough search," the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office said.
Ashlee Buzzard has not cooperated with the investigation, according to authorities.

Investigators say the Pagans confronted rival Unknown Bikers at the gas pumps, sparking a violent altercation and gunfire. Surveillance video shows the Pagans arriving together and opening fire before fleeing.
Police later stopped several motorcycles in Norristown and found three Pagan members wounded. Detectives recovered 14 shell casings at the scene.
All nine suspects face multiple counts of aggravated assault, riot, and reckless endangerment. Bail was set at $500,000 for most defendants. Preliminary hearing: Nov. 10, 2025.

Jose Abelardo Villegas-Orbe, a Mexican national, is now charged with vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated & DUI hit & run causing death after he allegedly killed 14-year-old La Quinta High School freshman student Liam Cantu while he was riding his bike on October 10th. Cantu died in the hospital this week. Police say Villegas-Orbe fled the scene.

BREAKING: Illegal alien accused of killing man at Catawba County North Carolina home.
What started as a disorderly conduct call ended with a manβs death, according to the Catawba County Sheriffβs Office.
"Ι΄α΄α΄‘α΄α΄Ι΄, Ι΄.α΄. β On Wednesday, 10/30/2025 at approximately 9:15 p.m. deputies with the Catawba County Sheriffβs Office responded to a report of someone engaging in disorderly conduct at a residence on Lucky Ln in Newton. When deputies arrived, they discovered the victim, Jose Figueroa, unconscious outside the residence.
Witnesses on the scene informed deputies that Figueroa had been assaulted by Roberto Arreola. Deputies located Arreola close to the scene of this incident and took him into custody. Figueroa later died from his injuries at an area hospital.
Sheriffβs investigators have initiated an investigation into this incident and have charged Arreola with Murder. Arreola had his first appearance in Catawba County District Court where he was placed under no bond and confined to the Catawba County Detention Facility. Arreola is believed to be an undocumented immigrant. Detention staff is in contact with Immigration Customs Enforcement.
Sheriffβs investigators are furthering this investigation to better discern the circumstances and motive connected with Figueroaβs death."
