HONORED RETIREMENT OF OFFICER PEIL
The Pueblo Police Department proudly recognizes the distinguished career of Officer Alan Peil, who has been an integral member of our team since June 7, 2019. Officer Peil served diligently in patrol until he was injured in the line of duty on October 4, 2023, while responding to a domestic violence incident.
During this critical situation, Officer Peil and his partner bravely engaged the suspect and swiftly ensured the safety of the female victim. As they attempted to secure cover, the suspect fired upon them. In response, both officers returned fire while the victim alerted them that her child was still inside with the suspect.
Despite sustaining injuries, Officer Peil exemplified extraordinary courage by continuing to protect the victims and his partner. He remained focused on ensuring that the child could reach safety alongside their mother. Officer Peil's unwavering commitment to his duties shows the valor and dedication he has to his fellow officers and the people in our community.
