A San Bernardino County sheriff's deputy was hospitalized after being shot in Rancho Cucamonga Monday afternoon.

The shooting was reported at about 12:37 p.m. at the 12300 block of Hollyhock Drive, in Rancho Cucamonga.

The deputy's condition is unknown.

Dramatic video of a suspect wanted in a shooting of a Sheriff’s Deputy having a horrific crash on the 210fwy earlier today.

The suspect could be seen with a firearm while on the bike just prior to his crash, possibly ready to shoot other officers. 2 firearms could be seen near the crash. The suspect was conscious and has been airlifted to a trauma center.

North Carolina: A bystander likely saved an officer’s life during a knife-wielding assault at a Cookout Sunday evening, the Salisbury Police Department said.

Officers responded to the restaurant on East Innes Street around 8:15 p.m. for a disturbance call.

When officers arrived, police said they found the suspect, identified as Jamie Hunt, 44, armed with a knife.

“A struggle ensued,” according to a release. That’s when Hunt began swinging the knife, injuring one officer.

An officer used a Taser to subdue Hunt, who was then taken into custody. Everyone involved was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

At about 12:37, deputies were dispatched to the 12300 block of Hollyhock, in RC for an armed Hispanic male threatening a female. 

At 12:42 p.m., deputies arrived and were immediately shot at by the suspect. One deputy was struck and was airlifted to a hospital.

The suspect fled the location on a motorcycle and was pursued along the eastbound 210-freeway.  At about 1:35 p.m., after a highspeed pursuit, the suspect crashed at Campus Avenue.  He was taken into custody and transported to a hospital with injuries. We will provide another update at a later time.

Santa Barbara Sheriff detectives are releasing an updated timeline and recently obtained surveillance images as they continue their search for missing 9-year-old Melodee Buzzard.

Through their ongoing investigation, detectives have narrowed the critical timeline to between October 7 and October 10, 2025. Investigators have confirmed that Ashlee was seen returning to her Lompoc residence on October 10, driving the same rental vehicle she departed with on October 7—but Melodee was not in the car. Investigators understand that this three-day road trip went from Lompoc to the Nebraska area, with the return trip including the state of Kansas. Detectives are now focused on determining where Melodee was during those three days and where she may be now.

As part of this update, detectives are sharing surveillance images of Melodee captured at a local car rental business on October 7. In the photo, Melodee is wearing a hooded sweatshirt with the hood pulled up and what appears to be a wig that is darker and straighter than her natural hair. Investigators believe the wig may have been used to alter her appearance. Detectives also note that Ashlee is known to wear wigs.

Please, pray for the two Dallas County Sheriff's deputies who were injured in the line of duty past Saturday.🙏🏻

A Dallas County sheriff's deputy was seriously injured early Saturday when he was struck and thrown off an overpass while investigating a crash on Interstate 35, authorities said.

The incident happened around 3:11 a.m. Saturday on northbound I-35, just north of Interstate 635 and over Harry Hines Boulevard, according to Doug Sisk, public information officer for the Dallas County Sheriff's Office.

Sisk said the deputy was investigating a crash when a Tesla driver became involved in a secondary collision at the same scene. The driver was detained and placed inside the deputy's patrol vehicle. Moments later, a Ford F-150 lost control on the slick roadway and slammed into the deputy's vehicle, which was parked at the crash site, authorities said. 

The deputy, who was standing between his patrol car and the bridge railing, was hit and thrown off the overpass, landing on Harry Hines Boulevard below. He sustained serious injuries and was rushed to a local hospital, Sisk said.

The Tesla driver, who had been sitting in the deputy's squad car, was also hurt and taken to the hospital but was later released. The F-150 driver was not impaired and will not face charges, Sisk said.

Just minutes after the overpass incident, another Dallas County sheriff's deputy was hurt in a separate crash on northbound I-35 near Reunion Boulevard.

At about 3:19 a.m., a sheriff's squad car lost control in a curve, struck a wall and a pickup truck, and came to rest in the median, Sisk said.

The deputy was taken to a nearby hospital, treated for minor injuries, and released.
