DRIVER SLAMS INTO SHERIFF'S UNIT DURING DUI INVESTIGATION SATURDAY EVENING ON 101 FREEWAY IN AGOURA:
About 5:45pm on Saturday, October 25 of 2025, a Ventura County Sheriff's Department deputy made a traffic stop on a vehicle on the south bound 101 Freeway near Hampshire Road.
The driver did not yield immediately, and continued before finally stopping on the right hand shoulder before the Kanan Road off ramp. The female driver was detained for a field sobriety investigation.
The driver was ultimately arrested for driving under the influence of drugs, the Sheriff's Office had confirmed.
As the investigation was wrapping up, a driver unrelated to the investigation slammed into one of the Sheriff's units. The crash sheared off a wheel of the Sheriff's unit before ending up on an embankment.
The Sheriff's Office confirmed that no one was injured from the crash. The CHP additionally responded and set up a flare pattern directing vehicles around the scene.
The Sheriff's Office did not have info on the second driver as of about 7:00pm if anything was going to happen with them.
The incident remained under active investigation with no additional information at this time.
