Newly released bodycam footage shows the dramatic moments when four Kentuckians stepped in to save the life of a Kentucky State Police trooper after he was shot near Blue Grass Airport.
The video, released this week by KSP, captures the July incident in which Trooper Jude Remilien was shot by Guy House during a traffic stop on Terminal Drive. The shooting was connected to a later tragedy at a Lexington church on Richmond Road, where two people were killed and two others injured.
According to officials, the four bystanders rushed to help Trooper Remilien immediately after he went down, applying pressure to his wounds and staying with him until backup and EMS arrived. Their quick actions are now being credited with saving his life.

Yesterday, a grand jury in North Carolina returned an indictment for DeCarlos Brown Jr., who viciously killed Iryna Zarutska on the light rail in Charlotte.

Today, KSP honored four courageous Kentuckians who helped save the life of Tpr. Jude Remilien, who was shot in the line of duty on July 13 outside of Blue Grass Airport. Today marked the first time Tpr. Remilien met the individuals who saved his life.
Jimmy Alexander, Jessica Alexander, Taylor Hall & Officer Adam Arnold were each presented with the Citation for Meritorious Achievement, the highest honor KSP can award a civilian.
