New York: Three people were arrested Monday after police in Greece pursued a stolen vehicle that had been flagged by the department’s license plate reader system, officials said.

Police said the alert came in around 4:30 p.m. for a white 2021 Kia Suburban reported stolen out of Rochester. Officers located the vehicle near Latta Road and Island Cottage Road, but the driver refused to stop, leading officers on a pursuit lasting about 13 minutes and ending on Frost Avenue in Rochester.

According to police, the suspects abandoned the vehicle and ran from the scene. After multiple foot chases and a coordinated search with the Rochester Police Department and New York State Police, all three suspects were taken into custody.

One of the juveniles resisted arrest, police said, prompting a brief use of force. A Greece police officer was injured during the struggle and was treated at a local hospital.

Please join us in sending prayers and, or positive thoughts for his recoveryπŸ™πŸ»

NEW: Ron Gochez, a schoolteacher & spokesperson for anti-ICE activist group Union Del Barrio in LA, appears to welcome armed resistance to ICE during press conference tonight:

"Don't forget where you're standing, this is South Central LA. [ICE] are not the only ones with guns in this city. Don't forget that. And I don't say that because I'm calling for violence. I'm saying that because the people have every right to defend themselves against masked, unidentified gunmen. The people have every right to defend themselves. That's not violent, that's intelligent."

The FBI is investigating this morning’s agent-involved-shooting that occurred near the 400 block of East 20th Street in downtown Los Angeles.  An FBI Evidence Response Team is currently processing the scene.  The FBI is working with our federal partners…
Carlitos Ricardo Parias, a 44-year-old illegal alien from Mexico living in South Los Angeles, is now charged in a criminal complaint with assault on a federal officer. He is expected to make his initial appearance tomorrow at the Roybal Federal Building in downtown L.A. and would face up to eight years in federal prison if convicted.

This morning, Parias rammed his car into agents’ vehicles after they boxed him in and ordered him to submit to arrest. Parias, who had previously avoided capture by immigration authorities, refused to comply with agents’ orders and escalated what could have been a simple arrest into a life-threatening situation.

Parias rammed a Toyota Camry into the law enforcement vehicles in front of and behind him, spun the Camry’s tires, spewing smoke and debris into the air, causing the car to fishtail and causing agents to worry for their safety. An agent breaking the Camry’s driver’s side window was not enough to subdue Parias.

Ultimately, an agent opened fire, wounding Parias and a deputy U.S. marshal, who was hit with a ricochet bullet. Fortunately, both the deputy marshal and Parias are expected to recover. Parias was arrested. He is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

Vehicles are deadly weapons. Anyone who uses them against federal agents risks arrest, imprisonment, and life-threatening injuries. We will continue to use every tool in our legal arsenal to protect our agents and enforce immigration laws passed by Congress.
