UPDATE: The San Antonio Police Department has released the names of the injured officers and the man shot dead during a confrontation at a West Side hotel Wednesday.

The department identified the injured officers as Luis Cordova and Ethaniel Valdez, who are recovering from gunshot wounds at home, SAPD said in a news release Thursday. They have eight and three years of service with the department, respectively.

Police said that Cordova and cadet Antonio Santiago, who has less than one year of service with the department, fired the shots that killed Odon Paul Bustos IV, 36, who was out of jail on community supervision.
