Swanger's girlfriend, Stephania Pumphrey, said Swanger's complications stem from being on a ventilator while he was in a coma. He suffers from a condition called tracheal stenosis, which has caused his trachea to narrow. Pumphrey said it could have been caused by him being forcefully intubated while he was having a seizure or by the breathing tube.

BREAKING OVERNIGHT: Los Angeles County Sheriffโs deputies responded to a ShotSpotter activation near Sierra Highway and Avenue J-2 on Wednesday night, October 15, 2025.
Upon arrival, deputies were directed to an area behind a location reportedly operating as an illegal casino, commonly referred to as a โTap Tap.โ At the scene, deputies discovered an individual suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim was pronounced dead by personnel from the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
One person was detained in connection with the incident, and a firearm was recovered at the scene.
The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities have not yet released the identity of the deceased.

Bad decisions come with real consequences. Trying to run over our agents was just the last in a string of bad decisions for these two Venezuelan illegal aliens.
As they fled, they aimed their vehicle at Border Patrol agents (who dodged being hit) and ultimately crashed into the Border Patrol vehicle. They thought they could get away from Operation Midway Blitz. Once again, we proved them wrong as agents performed a tactical PIT maneuver to disable their vehicle, and placed them under arrest.
No excuses. Not on our watch.
