Arkansas: The Garland County Sheriff's Office is searching for a woman who shot at a sheriff's deputy who was attempting to arrest her.

Officials with the sheriff's office stated that 34-year-old Brandy Taylor is wanted on aggravated assault, possession of firearms, and fleeing.

A release stated that on Tuesday, the deputy conducted a traffic stop in the 5200 block of East Grand Avenue, when Taylor fled the vehicle on foot.

Officials said that the deputy chased and, while attempting to arrest her, she resisted.

During the arrest, the deputy noticed that Taylor was armed, and she fired one shot before the deputy disarmed her. The Deputy was not injured, according to officials.

The sheriff's office stated that its Criminal Investigations Division has assumed the case and considers Taylor to be armed and dangerous.

She is described by officials as currently having red hair, standing 5'08", and weighing nearly 145 pounds.

Deputy Dalton Swanger suffers tracheal stenosis after a June assault, seeking urgent surgery. His condition challenges recovery, requiring specialized care.

Swanger's girlfriend, Stephania Pumphrey, said Swanger's complications stem from being on a ventilator while he was in a coma. He suffers from a condition called tracheal stenosis, which has caused his trachea to narrow. Pumphrey said it could have been caused by him being forcefully intubated while he was having a seizure or by the breathing tube.

Sinai Temple in Westwood celebrated the release of the hostages held by Hamas by taking down a banner with the faces of those being held. The temple vowed to keep the banner up until the hostages returned home.

BREAKING OVERNIGHT: Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a ShotSpotter activation near Sierra Highway and Avenue J-2 on Wednesday night, October 15, 2025.

Upon arrival, deputies were directed to an area behind a location reportedly operating as an illegal casino, commonly referred to as a “Tap Tap.” At the scene, deputies discovered an individual suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim was pronounced dead by personnel from the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

One person was detained in connection with the incident, and a firearm was recovered at the scene.

The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities have not yet released the identity of the deceased.
