On Sunday, October 12, threatening messages were discovered graffitied on the USCIS building in Williston, Vermont. Vandalizers wrote, “kill yourselves,” “your not safe were coming,” and “die,” on our federal building.

Indiana: The Lake County Sheriff’s Department is deeply saddened to share the loss of one of our own, Correctional Officer Ronald T. Jones, age 58, who was tragically killed in a traffic accident early this morning at Route 30 and Austin in Schererville. Officer Jones was off duty at the time of the crash.

The driver of the other vehicle fled the scene on foot. The Schererville Police Department is leading the investigation.

Jones leaves behind two adult children. His coworkers remember him as a kind, dedicated man who performed his duties with an exceptional level of professionalism.

My deepest condolences go to his family, friends, and all who were touched by his life and service.

BREAKING: The man who firebombed the residence of Josh Shapiro, the governor of Pennsylvania, pleaded guilty in a deal with a sentence of 25 to 50 years.

The suspect — Cody A. Balmer, 38, of Harrisburg, Pa. — entered a guilty plea on charges of attempted murder, terrorism and aggravated arson at the Dauphin County courthouse, not far from where the attack took place on the first night of Passover, a major Jewish holiday. Gov. Josh Shapiro, who is Jewish, had celebrated the holiday with dozens of friends and relatives at the residence a few hours before the fire broke out.

New: Milwaukee Police Release Video of Off-Duty Officer Attacked, Opening Fire in Self-Defense

Police released dashcam footage showing an off-duty Milwaukee officer being pistol-whipped by 33-year-old Elijah Wilks before the officer opened fire in self-defense.

The altercation began after a minor traffic crash, escalating when Wilks struck the officer in the head with a handgun.

The officer, a 20-year veteran of the department, fired several rounds, fatally wounding Wilks.

The West Allis Police Department is leading the investigation under standards for officer-involved shootings.

Wilks’s family has acknowledged he engaged in a struggle before being shot.
