UPDATE: The Priceville City Council made a unanimous vote on Monday to allow Priceville Police Officer Garry Chapman to return to work after being fired following a deadly chase in Hartselle in September.

According to the Priceville City Council, Chapman will be on a 10-day suspension without pay, and he also has to retrain with a supervisor upon his return to work.

The September wreck occurred after Chapman initiated a traffic stop on I-65 for a moving violation. The vehicle fled on to Hwy 36 and went through downtown Hartselle at high speeds before crashing into a van occupied by 4 Hartselle teenagers. One teen, Tristan Hollis, was killed and the three other seriously injured.

The driver of the car that fled, Archie Hale, is in the Morgan County Jail facing murder charges.

It has been reported that this was Chapman's 11th pursuit since January 2025.

BREAKING: Former Senator Mitt Romney's sister-in-law Carrie Elizabeth Romney, 64, was found dead outside a shopping center in a Los Angeles County neighborhood, deputies said.

The L.A. County Sheriff's Department said investigators discovered her body last Friday night in the 24000 block of Town Center Drive in Santa Clarita.
