The Honolulu Police Department said an officer was injured Tuesday night by a 48-year-old female prisoner while being escorted from the Kapolei Police Station.

Police said at about 9:15 p.m. Tuesday, the prisoner became combative while being escorted from a cell block at Kapolei for transport. She allegedly kicked the officer, injuring the officer’s knee.

HPD said she was additionally arrested on suspicion of first-degree assault on a law enforcement officer, and returned to her cell without further incident. HPD did not say what other charges she was in jail for.

The officer was treated at a nearby hospital and is expected to recover.

ICYMI: 4 Boston Police Officers Injured Trying to Quell Protest.

Around 6:50 p.m., Pro-Hamas extremists protesting the war in Gaza began to move from the Boston Common to the intersection of Tremont and Winter Streets, Boston police spokesperson John Boyle said in an email.

“At that time, protesters turned on police, kicking a marked cruiser, assaulting officers, blocking traffic and setting off devices causing red smoke in the air,” Boyle wrote.

Two of the officers who were injured were taken to local hospitals, and initial reports indicate that multiple officers were left with broken bones, but all of their injuries are considered non-life-threatening, the spokesperson said.

Missouri: Doctors released a Monett Police Department officer from the hospital after a crash involving his patrol car.

The two-vehicle crash happened on Tuesday, October 8, at the intersection of Cleveland Avenue and 13th Street. The other driver suffered no injuries in the crash.
The crash damaged both vehicles extensively.

The officer spent the night in the hospital for his injuries.

Prayers for the Fresno K-9 officer Nick who was injured in the line of duty last night.🙏🏻

California: A K-9 officer was injured Tuesday night while taking down a man accused of hitting someone in the head with a chunk of asphalt.

Police say Keon Pyant had armed himself with a large chunk of asphalt and approached a man around 8 p.m., sitting at a bus stop near Calaveras Street and Van Ness Avenue. When the man turned away, police say Pyant hit him twice in the side of the head with the asphalt.

He was treated on scene for a large laceration.

Pyant was located a short distance away by Skywatch. When K-9 Nick made contact, police say Pyant was still armed with asphalt.

According to officers, Pyant raised the asphalt towards them several times before trying to run away. Just as K-9 Nick got to him, police say he turned and hit him in the face.

Despite a broken tooth, K-9 Nick was able to hold his grasp on Pyant until officers took him into custody.

K-9 Nick was taken to the Fresno Emergency Vet and is now recovering with his handler.
