When Murfreesboro TN Police Department Officer Samuel Lopez responded to a Loose Animal Call for Service, he didn’t expect to spend nearly two hours on scene — but what happened next is something you’ll never forget.

He found an injured dog lying on the side of the road, scared and alone. Instead of just calling animal control and moving on, Officer Lopez stayed. He spoon-fed the pup his own lunch and gave him water from his thermal bottle.

Officer Lopez and his wife are unable to have children — and because of that, he’s developed a deep compassion for dogs. To him, they’re more than pets. They’re family. His actions that day brought new meaning to the phrase, “man’s best friend.”🐶

This is what public service looks like — empathy, patience, and heart. Thank you, Officer Lopez, for going above and beyond.

Under the leadership of President Trump, our Memphis Safe Task Force is making numerous positive impacts on this iconic city.

UPDATE: A male subject has exited the vehicle and has been detained by Officers.  

Area will remained closed (Spring St between Temple and 1st St) until further notice. 

City Hall Incident update:

At approximately 4:10 p.m., LAPD Security Services Division officers responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle parked on the sidewalk outside City Hall on Spring Street between 1st and Temple.

The driver, an adult male, refused to exit and comply with officers’ commands. SWAT was requested to establish comms. The driver was taken into custody without further incident.

The police investigation is complete. All streets will be open shortly.

Spanberger has called immigration enforcement a distraction. Virginia, you have a pivotal decision to make next month.

The Timber Mesa Fire and Medical District has identified the firefighter who has passed in the line of duty on October 3, 2025, as Firefighter EMT Glenn Collins, age 46.

At approximately 6:44 AM, Glenn was involved in a fatal vehicle collision on Lone Pine Dam Road near milepost 7.5 just outside of Show Low. Responding deputies determined the crash involved a head-on collision between a motorcycle and a truck. The motorcyclist, Firefighter EMT Glenn Collins, sustained fatal injuries.
