An off-duty cop was pushed onto the subway tracks at a Manhattan L train station Tuesday evening and his alleged shover is now facing attempted murder charges, according to the NYPD and sources.

The 24-year-old victim was shoved onto the track bed by a homeless man at the Third Avenue L station in the East Village shortly before 7:30 p.m., police said.

The man who was thrown off the platform was an off-duty cop, according to sources. He suffered pain in his head and body, the NYPD said.

He was allegedly pushed by Aaron Walker, 28, who also fell onto the tracks during the scuffle, sources said.

Los Angeles, CA On September 10, 2025, a bold catalytic converter theft occurred in the middle of the day at the intersection of Industrial Street and Mateo Street. Four suspects targeted a white Toyota Tundra work truck parked in the Arts District.

Around noon, a newer model black Toyota Camry with license plate 8GHJ101 pulled up alongside the truck. Three suspects exited the vehicle while the fourth, described as wearing a white shirt, remained in the driver’s seat. The crew worked swiftly, with one suspect wearing a black tank top and reflective pants assisting another in a black tshirt with a Transformers design, blue jeans, and a Milwaukee hat. A third suspect, dressed in a black hoodie and gray pants, also participated in the theft. Using a sawzall, the group cut the catalytic converter from the truck’s undercarriage in just three minutes before fleeing the scene in their Camry.

Catalytic converter thefts have surged in recent years due to the valuable metals they contain. Anyone with information should contact the Los Angeles Police Department.

Today we had the honor of hosting the Los Angeles Consular Corps Spouses Association for a potluck-style “lunch and learn.” 🍱

A wonderful initiative, LACCSA’s monthly meetings provide spouses of Consuls General and consular personnel with educational and philanthropic experiences while they are getting adjusted in a new city. 🌆

In addition to answering general questions about law enforcement in Los Angeles County, the Office of Constitutional Policing joined to discuss immigration enforcement and the jurisdictional considerations of law enforcement in LA County. 🚓

LACCSA introduced additional guest speakers, including Deborah Sawaf of Power of Words Foundation and Abiodun Koya, an internationally acclaimed Nigerian-born opera singer and classical artist. 🎶

We also enjoyed a delightful surprise when one of the guests in attendance shared a 1973 edition of LASD psychological testing for recruits. She had played an instrumental role in creating the test and we know our museum will be thrilled to check out her documents! 📚

Lancaster Deputy Injured in Collision With Burglary Suspect’s Vehicle

Lancaster, CA — At approximately 5:34 a.m. Wednesday morning, a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department deputy responding to a burglary call near 65th Street West and Avenue J-2 was struck by the suspect’s vehicle in a T-bone collision.

According to officials, additional deputies and Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel were immediately dispatched to the scene. Assigned fire units included Battalion 11, Engine 130, and Squad 130.

Authorities confirmed that the suspect remained at the scene following the crash. The condition of the deputy has not yet been released, and the incident remains under investigation.
