UPDATE: Fight Leads to Shooting at Augusta Mall

Today, at approximately 1:15 p.m., multiple calls were received by 911 regarding a shooting taking place at the Augusta Mall. Within 90 seconds, multiple units from the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office (RCSO) and the Richmond County Marshal’s Office arrived on scene.

Upon arrival, deputies located a male victim who had been shot. A Marshal’s deputy immediately began CPR while RCSO units secured entrances and exits to ensure those leaving the mall were checked before exiting the property.

Mall security played an essential role in the response. Thanks to prior planning, security personnel quickly provided officers with video, photos, and suspect descriptions that were broadcast immediately to responding officers. One suspect was apprehended on mall property and another was caught while fleeing toward a nearby gas station by road patrol deputies.

Florida: A man was arrested Monday morning after attempting to escape from a Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) traffic stop in Plantation, where a trooper was injured during the incident, according to an FHP arrest report.

The report said the traffic stop happened shortly after 8 a.m. on the right shoulder of westbound State Road 84, just east of Southwest 136th Avenue.
Officials said six men were inside a gray Ford F-150, including 29-year-old Jonathan Hernandez Guzman, identified by a Mexican passport.

When a trooper attempted to detain Hernandez Guzman for immigration-related issues, he placed a handcuff on Hernandez Guzman's left wrist. FHP said Guzman then turned aggressively, causing the handcuff to cut the trooper's right hand and prompting him to lose grip.

Hernandez Guzman fled, climbed a divider and swam across the New River Greenway area into a nearby neighborhood, according to the arrest report.

The trooper was transported to Cleveland Clinic Hospital and required nine stitches for the laceration, according to the report.

There was a shooting this morning at the Dallas ICE Field Office. Details are still emerging but we can confirm there were multiple injuries and fatalities.

The shooter is deceased by a self-inflicted gun shot wound.

While we don’t know motive yet, we know that our ICE law enforcement is facing unprecedented violence against them. It must stop.

UPDATE: On September 24, 2025, at about 6:40 a.m., Dallas Police responded to an assist officer call in the 8100 block of north Stemmons Freeway. The preliminary investigation determined that a suspect opened fire at a government building from an adjacent building. Two people were transported to the hospital with gunshot wounds. One victim died at the scene. The suspect is deceased.

This is an ongoing investigation, and we hold a media briefing later today.
