BREAKING: A shooting left three people dead near a west suburban middle school on Tuesday afternoon, police said.

Berwyn Illinois police officers heard gunfire near Lincoln Middle School just after 4 p.m. and rushed to the scene. There, officers saw a male suspect firing a rifle into a vehicle.

The officers took cover, and the middle school was placed on hard lockdown, police said.

Police said three people were killed in the shooting, which appears to be domestic-related.

Georgia: A DeKalb County police officer injured during a theft pursuit is now recovering at home after being released from the hospital.

The officer was hurt when one of two suspects rammed his vehicle, pinning her between two cars at a Home Depot parking lot on Lawrenceville Highway.

Paramedics quickly transported the officer to the hospital, while police initially captured one suspect.

The other suspect fled the scene, prompting a search involving K-9 units and a news chopper. About 40 minutes later, the second suspect was apprehended.

Prayers for the Toledo police officer who was injured in the line of duty yesterday morning. 🙏🏻

A Toledo police officer was injured in a vehicle crash while responding to a call on Monday, according to a police report.

Officer Timothy Zarecki was responding to a burglary in progress at 11:11 p.m. when suspect Holden King, 22, ran a red light while fleeing the scene, the department said. When he ran the light, Mr. King struck Officer Zarecki’s patrol vehicle at the intersection of Suder and Shoreland avenues.

Both were taken to Mercy Health St. Vincent Medical Center with minor injuries, the department said.

Florida: The Cape Coral Police Department reports one officer is injured after a crash, Tuesday.

Police said the officer has minor injuries, after another driver failed to yield the right of way when crossing over De Navarra Parkway in Cape Coral.

The department learned, the at-fault driver had never been issued a drivers license. He was placed under arrest for not having a license, according to police.

The incident occurred at Laguna Beach High School on September 11, the day after Charlie Kirk was shot and killed. The student, Zach Hornstein, said he wore the hat to stand in solidarity with Kirk.

Hornstein said at the end of the school day, a girl pulled his hat off and threw it in a trash can in the girls' restroom. He said she then started using profanity to describe President Donald Trump.

Palmdale Renames Avenue Q to Honor Fallen Deputy Ryan Clinkunbroomer

The City of Palmdale has officially renamed Avenue Q as Deputy Clinkunbroomer Avenue in memory of Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputy Ryan Clinkunbroomer.

The tribute comes three years to the day after Deputy Clinkunbroomer was tragically shot and killed in an unprovoked ambush outside the Palmdale Sheriff’s Station. The new street sign stands as a lasting reminder of his sacrifice and service to the community.

Deputy Clinkunbroomer, who followed in the footsteps of his father and grandfather in law enforcement, is remembered as a dedicated deputy and devoted family member. His loss deeply affected the Palmdale community and the entire Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

City officials said the renaming ensures that his name and legacy will live on for generations, honoring his bravery and commitment to public safety.

Our LASD motorsport team participated with our Emergency Vehicle Operations Training staff in a track day that included collision avoidance, EV and patrol SUV performance, and off-road courses. Deputies also engaged in sessions on risk management, pursuit policy and training, mental health and wellness, and wildfire response.

One of the most impactful moments came from the “Close Calls and Narrow Misses” presentation, where deputies shared experiences that highlighted how training, preparation, and presence of mind save lives in critical situations.
