BREAKING OVERNIGHT: Authorities officially ID shooter as 22-year-old Tyler Robinson. The shooter’s father reached out to a minister family friend who helped contact Washington County Sheriffs Office. Investigators say they interviewed a family member who said Robinson had become more political and full of hate in recent years. The family member said at a recent dinner Robinson spoke about Charlie Kirk visiting UVU and they spoke about why they didn’t like him and his viewpoints.

Please, pray for the Boston Police officer who was shot in the line of duty overnight.🙏🏻

A Boston Police officer from District B-2 was shot early Friday morning during a foot pursuit in Roxbury, authorities said.

The incident began around 12:45 a.m. when officers patrolling near 71 Dudley Street observed a group of individuals gathered near a park. As officers approached, one individual fled, running toward Kenilworth Street.

While pursuing the suspect around the corner of a building at Dudley and Washington Streets, the man suddenly turned and opened fire with what police described as a high-capacity semi-automatic firearm. One officer was struck in the arm. Officers immediately returned fire, hitting the suspect multiple times.

Both the injured officer and the suspect were rushed to Boston hospitals, where they remain in stable condition.
