🚨DEVELOPING: Sacramento lawmakers are voting TODAY on a proposed law that would allow the release of dangerous felons from custody, no conviction and no jail for the following crimes:

Felony Child Abuse

Felony Corporal Injury to Child

Felony Assault Likely to Cause Great Bodily Injury

Felony False Imprisonment

Felony Possession of a Firearm by a Felon

Felony Purchasing sex from a minor who is 16 or 17-yrs-old

Felony Second degree burglary

Felony Looting

Felony Maintaining a drug house

Felony Poss of Meth, PCP or Fentanyl for sale

(Partial list)

AB 1231 would give California judge’s the unilateral authority, without meaningful  oversight, and over the objection of DAs and law enforcement, to decide which of these crimes and offenders essentially walk free, without a traditional prosecution, trial and punishment.

Victims would not be able to stop it either.

Public safety practitioners know that If this law passes, more people will be victimized by the same people.

DAs, Sheriffs and Police are opposed to this reckless bill.

Democrats will pass this bill without a single Republican vote, unless some Dems vote no.

Call your state  representatives and object and then watch which of them support this very dangerous bill.

Prayers to the officer who was injured πŸ™πŸ»

Marcy , NY – A thirty-one-year-old inmate at Marcy Correctional Facility attacked and attempted to grope a female officer inside one of the facility dorms last week.   The attack sent the officer to a local hospital for treatment of her injuries that occurred during the attack.

The incident occurred on Thursday, September 4.  The officer had just completed her security rounds inside the dorm and was sitting at her desk when the inmate came up behind her and grabbed her shoulder.  The officer turned and the inmate forced her over backwards from her chair landing on top of her on the floor.  He proceeded to headbutt her in the forehead, licked her nose and attempted to sexually grope her.

The officer fought back, kicking the inmate in the groin and mid torse area, knocking him backwards.   The inmate got up and retreated as additional staff arrived and placed him in handcuffs and escorted him out of the dorm.

The officer was treated by medical staff at the facility and was transferred to Wynn Hospital for treatment of knee, elbow, and arm pain and swelling.  She also sustained an abrasion to her forehead where she was headbutted.

The inmate, who is serving his second stint in state prison is currently serving a three-to-six-year sentence after being convicted in Yates County in 2024 for Aggravated Criminal Contempt and Aggravated Family Offense.

β€œEven as assaults on staff have declined over the past six months,  the dangers for officers are there daily.  We know that when the HALT Act is fully reinstated in all prisons, the attacks will increase again.  It would certainly help if the State Legislature would pass the β€œForcible Touching” legislation that was introduced in January that would increase the criminal penalties when you forcibly touch a corrections officer in a sexual manner. This inmate, who is schedule for a parole date as early as March of 2026, clearly had intentions of sexually assaulting the female officer when he attempted to grope her during the attack.  The officer did an excellent job defending herself in what could have a much more serious attack.   Hopefully when that parole hearing comes around in six months, they consider the nature of this assault and deny him.  It will send a message that this type of behavior will not be tolerated.” – said Bryan Hluska, Central Region Vice President
