South Carolina Highway Patrol Senior Trooper Mitchell Williams Jr. has been released from the hospital after a harrowing incident early Sunday morning.

While assisting with a traffic stop on I-77 near mile marker 9, Williams was struck by a truck with an enclosed trailer that ran into the median. The driver's side mirror hit Williams, but thankfully, he's now recovering.
