Officer Duarte joined the San Diego Police Department in 2019 and served most of his career with our Southeastern Division.
 
He will be remembered for his fun-loving nature, deep pride in his family and Filipino and Hawaiian heritage, and his dedication as both an SDPD officer and a United States Marine.
 
Thank you, Officer Duarte, for your service to the Southeastern community and the City of San Diego.

South Carolina Highway Patrol Senior Trooper Mitchell Williams Jr. has been released from the hospital after a harrowing incident early Sunday morning.

While assisting with a traffic stop on I-77 near mile marker 9, Williams was struck by a truck with an enclosed trailer that ran into the median. The driver's side mirror hit Williams, but thankfully, he's now recovering.
