After 11 days of incredible care at the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, he's taking a huge step forward in his recovery journey.

Lt. Burgess was injured on August 26th when struck by a suspect's vehicle during an incident on I-95. We're beyond grateful to the amazing doctors, nurses, and medical staff at Shock Trauma for their exceptional care.

NEW: OMB signals President Trump would sign into law HR 3486 (Stop Illegal Entry Act) if it were to come to his desk. The bill would create a mandatory minimum 5-year prison term for any alien who enters the US illegally and gets convicted of a felony. It also increases the maximum prison term for illegal re-entry from 2 to 5 years.

The bill also establishes a mandatory minimum term of imprisonment of 10 years and allows a life sentence for an individual who was convicted of a felony before deportation, or convicted of illegal reentry at least two times before removal, and who subsequently enters or tries to enter the United States.

NEW: HSI Integrated Operations Group arrested Victor Manuel De Jesus Tinal-Puc, 45, of Mexico, Sept. 7. Tinal has been charged with battery on a person, possession of a controlled substance, and obstructing a public officer. He is in ICE custody pending removal.

The Hawaii Police Department sadly announced the death of K9 Archer. K9 Archer, a dedicated partner and protector, passed away on September 4, 2025, after being left unattended in a police vehicle. The Hawai'i Police Department is conducting a thorough investigation into the incident.

The fake news claimed that DHS law enforcement arrested two firefighters in Washington.

This is FALSE. The two illegal aliens apprehended were NOT firefighters — nor were they responding to any active emergency. In fact, they were criminal illegal aliens with prior arrests.

Under President Trump and Sec. Noem, criminal illegal aliens are not welcome in the U.S.

OFFICER INJURED, 2 ARRESTED AFTER KNIFE FIGHT IN CITY OF NEWBURGH, NY:

City of Newburgh police say an officer was injured while breaking up a fight between two men last Monday.

Authorities report the officer saw two men fighting around 8:09 p.m. on September 1 near Broadway and Clark Street. The officer intervened and separated the men. Once the fight was under control, authorities say the officer noticed he had a small puncture wound to his right bicep and also saw that one of the men was holding a pocket knife.

Police say the officer was able to safely end the altercation and place both men under arrest. The officer was treated for the minor injury at Montefiore St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital.

The men involved were identified as John Morris, 60, of Newburgh, and Antione Polk, 55, of Newburgh.

Morris was charged with disorderly conduct.
Polk was charged with assault, menacing a police officer, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, obstructing governmental administration, and criminal possession of a weapon.

Polk was arraigned and remanded to the Orange County Jail, where he remains as of Monday morning.

Mayor Lyles outlined several new security efforts including redeploying CATS security to the Blue Line and beefing up CMPD presence outside stations.

In Dec 2024, I retired from the Avondale Police Dept after 24 1/2 years. On Sept 1, 2007 , my best friend (pictured with me) Mike Allread , who was a Detective at the time unexpectedly died after being sick for awhile. I promised Mike I would keep his memory alive and every year on the anniversary of his death I would send out a department wide email reminding every one of what a great father, friend and cop he was. Mike loved life and he loved being a cop. I miss you buddy…..❤️❤️
