California: The Garnet Fire remains active in Fresno county, California, and has grown to 36,445 acres with 14% containment. Crews continue to prep roads and build primary and contingency lines, and are finding areas that can be successful other than direct attack in the steeps.

The fire is likely to remain active on the north end due to heavy fuels and bug-killed tree stands which can produce long range spotting. The fire has been active in the morning once the nighttime inversion lifts. There are 2,052 personnel on the fire including 50 crews, 94 engines, 13 helicopters, multiple dozers, and fixed winged aircraft. North Carolina: Officer Injured While Detaining Suspect on Ramsey St, Fayetteville.

Nearly a dozen police units rushed to Ramsey St near the Martin Luther King Jr Dr exit after an officer was injured while approaching and detaining a suspect.

The suspect, who is usually seen at the MLK exit, was arrested and taken into custody.

The officer received medical attention at the scene.
