Arizona: A Chandler police officer was injured by a motorcyclist during a traffic stop in Tempe on Saturday night, authorities said.

According to the Chandler Police Department, the officer was in Tempe as part of a task force.

The motorcyclist is facing charges of aggravated assault, unlawful flight, reckless driving, criminal speed, endangerment and resisting arrest.

The officer attempted to make a traffic stop on a motorcycle around 11:17 p.m.

Police said that instead of stopping, the driver fled and a short time later stopped at a traffic light.
The officer then got out of his car, approached the motorcyclist and hit the kill switch on the bike.

That was when the motorcyclist swatted the officer’s hand away and a struggle began, according to police.

Police said that during the incident, the officer had struck his head on the ground.

Florida: The Fort Pierce Police Department (FPPD) arrested a 33-year-old man Saturday night after he allegedly swung a machete at officers in a Walmart parking lot, injuring one.

According to a statement from FFPD, officers responded to the Walmart in the 5100 block of Okeechobee Road at about 9:15 p.m. following reports of a man with a machete.

When police approached, the suspect, who has since been identified as Lawrence Fountain, began swinging the weapon violently, investigators said. After a brief struggle, he was taken into custody.

One officer suffered a laceration to the arm during the incident and was transported to a local hospital.

BREAKING: Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani seriously injured after car accident while assisting domestic violence victim in New Hampshire, per statement.

Giuliani, 81, was hospitalized  with a fractured vertebrae and multiple cuts and bruises, including injuries specifically to his left arm and lower leg,  after his rent-a-car was hit from behind, spokesman Michael Ragusa said Sunday.

He is in "good spirits and recovering tremendously," per spokesman Michael Ragusa's statement shared via X.

NEW: A Los Angeles Police Department patrol car smashed into the side of a Bobo’s Hamburgers in South Gate on Sunday morning after burglary suspects led officers on a chaotic chase.

According to LAPD, officers began following two suspected burglars near Santa Fe Avenue and Slauson Avenue around 7:15 a.m. The suspects, who police said may have been armed, led officers on a pursuit in a gray sedan.

While the burglary suspects ultimately escaped, the LAPD said officers arrested one woman on suspicion of grand theft auto during the incident, which seemed to be unrelated to the burglary suspects. It was not immediately clear if the woman was involved in the collision.

The GTA suspect was not identified, and no injuries were initially reported.

BREAKING: 3 found dead in home in Carmichael, California.

Three people who were shot were found dead in a Carmichael home on Sunday, the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office said.

JUST IN: Authorities responded to Fort Morgan Municipal Airport, Colorado on Sunday morning after two small planes collided in midair, according to the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office.

The number of people involved and extent of casualties remain unclear, though at least one person sustained burns, according to Morgan County Sheriff David Martin.

Images from an FAA weather camera show a plume of smoke just north of the airport, which is located about five miles north of the town of Fort Morgan off Highway 52.

Martin said deputies are on scene going through the badly damaged planes, which the sheriff described as “Cessna-type” aircraft.

Rock Hill South Carolina Police Department K9 Apollo was stabbed while apprehending a suspect armed with a knife.

The incident began on August 28, 2025, at 10:07 p.m.  The 56-year-old female victim called reporting that a suspect attempted to stab her with a knife. He was in the yard and ran away when officers arrived. Several officers began pursuing after Tate. K9 Apollo was released to assist with the chase. Apollo was able to catch  and take him to the ground. While Apollo actively engaged in holding him for officers, the suspect used a knife to stab Apollo several times. A Rock Hill Officer intervened grabbing his arm to stop him from further harming Apollo. He was disarmed and taken into custody.

Apollo was rushed to the emergency vet where his treatment began. K9 Apollo is stable and recovering from surgery. Expectations are Apollo will recover and return to duty when healed.

🇺🇸🇲🇽 US charges five members of Mexico's United Cartels, imposes sanctions

The U.S. Justice Department on Thursday charged five high-ranking members of the Carteles Unidos drug gang, known in English as United Cartels, while the Treasury Department announced it was imposing sanctions on the group.

United Cartels, which is less widely known than some of its rivals, controls large areas of Michoacan, Mexico. The Justice Department called it one of the "most prolific" methamphetamine producers, and said that the proceeds from its illicit drug sales are used to acquire weapons, hire mercenaries, and bribe local officials.

The State Department said it is offering collectively up to $26 million in reward money for information leading to the arrest of the five men.
