Last night, Southern Ohio suffered a heartbreaking loss. Officer Matthew Juniper, originally from Nelsonville and serving with the Wellston Police Department, was tragically killed.

He was more than a badge—he was a protector, a neighbor, and a friend to so many. His service to the community will never be forgotten, and his sacrifice will forever be honored.

We here at Hocking Hills Tourist, along with countless others across Nelsonville, Wellston, and all of Southern Ohio, are mourning alongside his family, friends, and fellow officers. Our prayers are with them in this time of unimaginable pain.

We will be notifying everyone soon with a plan of action on how we can come together as a community to support his family in the days ahead.

BREAKING: Multiple police cars were reportedly set on fire in possible arson at Municipal parking lot on Trinity Place, in Hackensack NJ tonight.

Authorities are on scene investigating after multiple police vehicles were set on fire in a parking lot near the Bergen County Islamic Center on Trinity Place in Hackensack, New Jersey, on August 30, 2025. Members of the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office and Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office are on scene as police search for the suspect. Multiple pieces of evidence were collected by officials at the scene. Several city police vehicles appeared to be suspicious in nature. The vehicles were parked, unoccupied at 78 Trinity Place, which is a lot that is used as an overflow parking area for police vehicles. No injuries were reported.

🚔 DPD HELICOPTER FOOTAGE 🚁 Following a carjacking that took place in the 16000 block of Robson, our officers began searching for two suspects.

Officers found the individuals, and trailed them using our Aviation and ground units, until the suspects stopped to go fishing at an area near Fort and Rademacher. Both suspects were arrested, and the officers recovered the vehicle they stole, a firearm, two ballistic vests, and clothing matching what was worn during the crime.

LAPD News: An Officer-Involved Shooting occurred in the area of Jefferson Blvd and 9th Ave.

This morning around 1:10 am, officers were in the area of Jefferson Blvd & 9th Ave when they encountered a suspect armed with a firearm. There was an exchange of gunfire between the suspect & officers. The suspect was struck but able to flee on foot.

The suspect was able to run about two blocks to 7th Ave where he was taken into custody by a responding police unit. The suspect was taken to a local hospital and is in stable condition. No officers were injured. The suspect’s firearm is at the scene.
