Last night, over 80 arrests were made and 11 illegal firearms seized.

NEW: ICE San Diego arrested Leonel Grageda, 37, an illegal alien from Mexico and a Surenos gang member, with a criminal history including possession of a firearm, and probation violations. Keeping violent gang members off our streets is essential to protecting public safety.

UPDATE: 3 children remain hospitalized after carjacking leads to Malibu crash.

Three children under the age of 10 remained hospitalized Saturday following a violent carjacking that began at a 7-Eleven in East Los Angeles and ended in a crash on Pacific Coast Highway.

Another update for you on your FBI’s Operation Summer Heat and our work to crush violent crime.

The FBI and our partners have arrested 220 violent offenders just this week, bringing our total to over 5,700 since the operation began in June. We’re seeing real results against violent offenders- and we’re not slowing down.
 
Great work on an FBI Detroit investigation with coordination from FBI Jacksonville, FBI Charlotte, FBI Houston, FBI Tampa and FBI St. Louis to disrupt a large labor trafficking ring. Two Self-Professed Religious Leaders, who are accused of using physical and psychological abuse to coerce victims to solicit tens of millions in donations, were federally charged and arrested this week. This investigation will no doubt save many victims from further abuse.
 
In FBI San Antonio, a man was arrested for making threats against a member of the federal government and their family. We will not stand for people making these kinds of dangerous calls and instilling fear in people. Those who think they can hide need to know we will find you.
 
FBI Tampa worked with our HSI partners to get a suspect into custody who assaulted an ERO and HSI agent then took off running. Thankfully, the agents will recover from their injuries.
 
An FBI Anchorage investigation led to the arrest of a man and woman for conspiring to maintain a drug-involved premise at a hotel in Anchorage. It’s alleged the suspects used the hotel to store and distribute drugs, directed people looking to buy drugs to their dealers living on the premise and controlled who was allowed to visit the hotel.
 
Those are just a few of the highlights---we continue to remove dangerous drugs from the streets. FBIWFO and our partners did 20 searches and made several arrests this week into an alleged D.C.-based drug trafficking organization that sold PCP and fentanyl. We also seized several firearms including one AR-Style rifle, a shotgun, and one Draco-style pistol.
 
Through this initiative, the FBI and our partners have disrupted 290 networks, seized a combined 24,900 kilos of fentanyl and cocaine, and have continued to keep communities safe.
