Chicago: A Jeep was rammed into a South Shore store early Thursday before burglars reportedly made off with Jordan shoes.

Community activist Patrick Gibbons identified the targeted business as the DTLR store at 71st and Jeffery.

In a statement, he said the suspects stole "a large number of Jordan shoes" during the burglary.

Gibbons also called the burglary part of "a troubling pattern of crimes targeting small businesses, particularly on the South and West Sides."

DHS is awarding $110 million to more than 600 faith-based organizations and nonprofits across the US. In the face of violent criminals and radical organizations intent on hurting American communities, the Trump Administration is helping houses of worship, schools and community centers to harden their defenses against attacks and protect themselves.

This money, administered through FEMA’s Nonprofit Security Grant Program, may be used on security enhancements, like cameras, warning and alert systems, gates and lighting, access control systems and training programs for staff.

Instead of using grant money to fund climate change initiatives and political pet projects, we are using this money to protect American communities— especially places where people gather in prayer.

 On Monday, August 25, 2025, at approximately 8:45 p.m., deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Lomita Station, responded to multiple 911 calls reporting a structure fire at a local apartment complex.

Upon arrival, deputies encountered a third-floor apartment fully engulfed in flames. Without hesitation and despite lacking protective gear or breathing apparatus, deputies began evacuating residents from adjacent units while confronting heavy smoke conditions. One deputy located an emergency fire hose within the complex and used it in an attempt to suppress the flames.

As Los Angeles County Fire Department engine companies arrived and began firefighting operations, deputies worked swiftly to protect residents. Deputies forced entry into nearby units, clearing them one by one to ensure everyone was safely evacuated. Their decisive actions helped prevent injuries, and fortunately, no civilians were harmed during the incident.

“I am proud of our deputy personnel and their heroic actions,” said Captain Kimberly Guerrero. “Their quick thinking and selflessness significantly reduced property loss and prevented residents from being displaced. Their actions are truly commendable.”

A preliminary investigation determined the fire originated from a malfunctioning electrical stove. The fire was classified as accidental, with estimated property damage totaling approximately $700,000.

Five deputies were transported to a local hospital and treated for minor smoke inhalation. All are expected to make a full recover.

Arizona: A Scottsdale officer was injured early Friday morning after a driver crashed into the back of a parked patrol vehicle near 79th Street and Thomas Road.

According to officials, the crash happened just after 4:30 a.m. when a man driving a large military-style SUV slammed into the back of the officer’s vehicle. The officer was sitting in the driver's seat at the time.

The officer suffered a minor injury and was treated at the scene. The driver of the SUV was taken to the hospital for treatment.

So here is a wonderful idea- since bartenders can be held criminally liable for drunk drivers, I think we need to make judges criminally liable for the subsequent actions taken by the rapists, molesters, abusers, and murders that they turn them back out on the street.

More Americans need to realize that regardless of their party, criminals MUST be made to do time for their crimes and held till their trial. A MURDERER should NOT be let out on bail! PERIOD!

Anything less than full sentence, judge is liable.

Parole? Parole board is liable.

Prosecutor? Charge all crimes and seek maximum penalties.
