Seemingly constant fires in LA’s Sepulveda Basin Park have nearby residents worried the next one could get out of control and destroy homes.

These fires are often times attributed to the hundreds of homeless people living across the 2,000 acre park, many view as dangerous.

According to Encino’s Neighborhood Council president, the homeless have setup “booby traps” near encampments like fishing hooks and “spear like objects” in holes for people to fall into.

Texas: A Conroe Police Department motorcycle officer has been injured in a traffic accident according to authorities.

The accident took place at the intersection of I-45 and North Loop 336. As of about 1:00pm (local time), the officer was on his way to the hospital.

There is no official word yet on the officers condition. Montgomery County Judge Mark Keough took to Facebook to request prayers for the officer.

A Chaves County Sheriff's Deputy and a Roswell Police Officer were shot and injured during a response where they say a man was threatening suicide.

New Mexico State Police say a suspect is in custody after a shooting involving multiple departments. According to the Chaves County Sheriff’s Office the shooting happened just after midnight on the corner of Orchard and 6th St. in Roswell. A Roswell police officer and a Chaves County Sheriff’s Office deputy were injured in the shooting.

Chaves County Undersheriff Charles Yslas says multiple departments were responding to a domestic issue. After law enforcement arrived, the suspect, identified as Dakota Perkins, opened fire on them. Investigators say Perkins was suicidal, outfitted with body armor and armed with multiple weapons. State Police say Perkins’ partner and two children were not injured during the shootout. Investigators say it took 30 minutes of negotiating to bring the suspect into custody. He was taken to a hospital to treat a gunshot wound. The injured officer and deputy are expected to be okay.

NEW: A person wanted for alleged reckless driving was arrested after a pursuit Thursday morning, though not before they took the sedan off-road between two freeways and tried to escape on foot.

Wisconsin: A Milwaukee Police officer was injured while trying to arrest the "combative" driver involved in a Wednesday afternoon chase.

It started around 12:40 p.m. when officers tried to stop a vehicle for driving recklessly. The driver took off near Teutonia and Villard, and the chase ended roughly two miles away near 36th and Roosevelt when the vehicle became disabled.

The driver and a passenger got out and ran but were arrested. MPD identified the driver as a 43-year-old man and the passenger as a 25-year-old woman. Multiple guns and suspected drugs were recovered.

An officer was injured while trying to arrest the "combative" driver, police said, and taken to a hospital. MPD identified the officer as a 29-year-old man.

Connecticut: Three staff members at Cheshire Correctional Institution were injured after a prisoner allegedly attacked a correctional officer on Monday morning, according to officials.

The American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees Council 4 said that during meal time, an inmate threw hot coffee in an officer’s face, then made multiple attempts to slash and stab the officer with an improvised weapon. 

Three officers sustained various injuries to the neck, back and knees while restraining the inmate, the AFSCME said. 

Officials did not release the names of the officers or the inmate.

Connecticut: A police officer was struck by a vehicle while conducting traffic Wednesday, but was not seriously injured, officials said.

The officer was struck at the intersection of Daniels Farm and Hedgehog roads, according to the Trumbull Police Department.

Police said the officer did not sustain an injury that required treatment at a hospital.
