A Las Vegas police officer is recovering after a single-vehicle crash Tuesday morning.

Metro tells FOX5 the crash happened around 2:00 a.m. at Frank Sinatra Drive and Reno Avenue, about a block away from the Las Vegas Strip. The scene was located near the Luxor and Excalibur parking lot.

Just after 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department officials told FOX5 that the officer involved in the collision was riding a motorcycle at the time of the crash.

The officer was transported to a nearby hospital with injuries. He is stable, according to police.

Texas: A Celina police officer was injured after being involved in a motorcycle accident Tuesday morning, Aug. 26.

𝙈𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙖𝙜𝙚 𝙛𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝘾𝙝𝙞𝙚𝙛 𝘾𝙪𝙡𝙡𝙞𝙨𝙤𝙣:

“So many of our residents have inquired about the condition of one of our officers who was involved in a serious motorcycle accident while on duty this morning. I am pleased to report to you that our officer is recovering at a nearby hospital where they were transported with (non-life threatening) injuries earlier today. We are confident the officer will return to duty very soon, and we are grateful for this.

With respect to the officer, their family, we are withholding their identify at this time. I want to thank our supportive Celina family and all who expressed their concerns and, perhaps, voiced a silent prayer for our officer. In Celina, we always find the best in our people during the most challenging times. For this community and for this officer’s safety, I am extremely grateful this morning.”

JUST IN: Solano Community College Fairfield campus evacuated due to gas leak.

The college said all classes and activities are canceled until further notice, and everyone on campus is advised to leave immediately until an all-clear is issued.

Wyoming: Crews on the Dollar Lake Fire in the Bridger Teton National Forest conducted firing Ops around the Red Cliff Bible Camp, with aviation backing them up with retardant drops. Dozer lines were also pushed to advance line construction operations.

The fire is now 13,518 acres and 0% contained, however favorable weather is moving into the area which should help bolster those containment numbers.

The Willow Creek Fire in Lincoln county, Wyoming is now 4,355 acres with 12% containment. That fire area is also expecting favorable weather in the coming days, and crews are conducting firing Ops to keep the fire west of Highway 89.

NEW: 1 dead, 6 people hurt in south Minneapolis shooting.

Minnesota:  A Beltrami County Sheriff's deputy was injured after a man in a suspected stolen vehicle collided with their squad head-on during a pursuit Tuesday morning near Bemidji.

According to the Beltrami Sheriff's Office, the pursuit began after a deputy was conducting a follow-up to an investigation into a stolen vehicle near a mobile home park west of Bemidji. Officials say the stolen vehicle was located, but when authorities attempted to make a traffic stop, the driver fled.

The pursuit, which continued on gravel roads and snowmobile trails, ended when the alleged suspect, driving south on Grant Creek Road Northwest, collided with the deputy's squad, which was traveling northbound with its emergency lights on.

The sheriff's office said the deputy was treated at a nearby hospital and released.

NEW: Lithium Ion Fire this evening in Lake View, NY Erie County at an electric golf cart shop.

A structure fire engulfed the Golf Carts Unlimited facility in Lake View Tuesday evening. Clouds of smoke filled the air as crews fought the flames.

“No injuries, no evacuations. Route 20 has been closed down and remains closed down until we get the apparatus out,” said Town of Hamburg Emergency Manager Sean Crotty.
