BREAKING: New York State Police say there are multiple fatalities, injuries and people still missing after a tour bus crashed on the thruway Friday.

A tragic accident occurred on Friday when a tour bus carrying around 50 passengers from Niagara Falls to New York City crashed into a ditch on Interstate-90 near Pembroke, New York.

According to state police, multiple fatalities have been confirmed, including children, while many others sustained serious injuries. Several passengers were trapped inside the wreckage, and some were thrown out of the bus during the rollover.

Emergency response teams rushed to the scene with ambulances and medical helicopters, transporting injured passengers to nearby hospitals. Officials said translators were brought in since many passengers were of Indian, Chinese, and Filipino origin.

The New York State Thruway was closed in both directions, causing major traffic disruptions.

Governor Kathy Hochul called the crash “tragic” and confirmed that her office is coordinating with police and local authorities. Attorney General Letitia James described the incident as “heartbreaking,” praising first responders for their swift action.

Canada: Officer seriously injured in RCMP vehicle rollover on Saskatchewan highway.

Saskatchewan RCMP collision analysts are investigating after an RCMP officer rolled his unmarked cruiser on Highway 4 on Thursday evening.

RCMP say the incident was reported around 6 p.m. on Aug. 21 at the resort village of Cochin, located about 120 miles northwest of Saskatoon.

According to police, an officer with the Battlefords detachment was responding to a call for service in an unmarked police vehicle with emergency equipment activated when the rollover occurred.

The officer, a man, sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Saskatoon for treatment.
