We are deeply saddened to share the passing of LVMPD K9 Hunter.
At 14 years old, after 2 ½ years of retirement, Hunter left us doing what he loved most, driving into a bite while in the arms of his lifelong partner, retired Officer Jeff Corbett.
Throughout his remarkable 12-year career, Hunter was responsible for locating and apprehending more than 200 suspects. Known as one of our top patrol dogs and a favorite among SWAT, Hunter’s courage and dedication never wavered. Many will remember his bravery in 2019, when he was stabbed during a SWAT operation. True to his spirit, Hunter recovered, returned to duty, and continued serving this community with distinction until his well-earned retirement.
