Residents in D.C.’s high-crime neighborhoods back federal takeover of city police.

Robbie Woodland was skeptical of President Trump’s takeover of the District of Columbia until she spotted a patrol firsthand in Southeast.

The lifelong Washingtonian watched as federal agents drove by without performing any jump-outs or other strong-arm police tactics of the sort she feared would target her predominantly Black neighbors living across the Anacostia River, a part of the nation’s capital long associated with high crime.

At the direction of POTUS, our nation’s capital is a SAFER placeβ€”and we are just getting started.

52 arrests were made last night, including an MS-13 gang member, and 9 firearms were taken off the streets.

Since our mission began, there have been a total of 465 arrests, 68 guns seized, and charges for homicide, narcotics, and firearm offenses.

Nearly half of these arrests occurred in the high-crime areas of DC.

Residents and tourists alike appreciate this extraordinary effort by our DC and Federal law enforcement partners.

Make DC Safe Again! πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

NEW: Two Evadale, TX, firefighters were injured Monday evening after their medical truck blew a tire and crashed off FM 105. Thankfully, their injuries are not life-threatening, but they were taken to Baptist Hospital in Beaumont for treatment.

The crash happened while the crew was on the way to a medical emergency, reminding us of the risks first responders take every day to keep others safe.

Prayers for a full and quick recovery for these firefighters. πŸ’™πŸš’

The latest update from your FBI’s Operation Summer Heat…

Our teams are making strides every day to keep our communities safe.

-Thanks to an FBI Boston investigation, a middle school librarian was arrested for distributing child pornography.

-A Mexican national was charged with sexually exploiting a 12-year-old girl after an FBI Cincinnati investigation.
-And the FBI Charlotte Raleigh Durham Safe Streets Task Force assisted our partners at NCSHP with arresting a father and son accused of assaulting a NC State Trooper, who is thankfully recovering from his injuries.

These highlights are just a glimpse into the 85 arrests made last week under our operation. And since the operation’s inception in June, we’ve arrested 3,900 subjects, seized 906 firearms, and recovered 132 kilograms of fentanyl and over 20,000 kilograms of cocaine.

These are real-time results. Reducing violent crime is a promise the FBI will continue to keep.

That’s YOUR FBI at its finest.

More to come. God bless America, and all who defend her.
