As her husband was leaving her last night, she never knew would be his last kiss goodbye. 💔My heart breaks that she will never again experience the sound of velcro at the door and breathe a sigh of relief when their officer made it home after their shift. Michigan: Detroit police officers were injured Sunday after a hit-and-run driver crashed into their patrol vehicle on the city's east side, officials said.

The crash happened at about 5 p.m., police said.
According to a preliminary investigation, the officers' vehicle was traveling in the area of Mack Avenue and Cadieux Road when it was struck by another car.

The second vehicle's driver then drove off from the scene, officials said.

They said the officers suffered injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening.
