NEW: Gang member arrested attempting to enter the country illegally!

8/8: A 39-year-old Mexican national with gang affiliation was arrested after he and another alien man, illegally crossed into the U.S. through the desert, SW of Tucson.

Agents tracked and arrested the pair and conducted records checks on both.  During the checks, it was discovered one of the men, was previously deported from the U.S. on several occasions, and had criminal history in Nevada as well as Texas. 

While processing this illegal entry, agents also learned he was affiliated with "Sureños", a Mexican street and prison gang. Now both men will be prosecuted for illegal entry into the country and could face incarceration as well as removal from the country if found guilty. 

Interesting Fact: This gang member worked illegally in the construction industry in the past. FYI

We took a ride-along with the Nassau County Gang Investigation Squad overnight.

Over the past week, they've arrested several gang members, including MS-13, who are in the country illegally.

And unlike many counties in New York, Nassau County cooperates with federal immigration authorities.
